I have real expectations for this lad - not only does he have a natural talent but he thinks a game as well. He has many of the same attributes that Sinny does but IMO is a little more talented than Sir Kev was the same age.

Big call that, given that Sinfield was widely rated the best player in the country through the age groups.



Be interesting to see how Ward goes with a full time pre-season under his belt. If he is going to play at loose I would still like to see him fill out a bit.

He does appear to slot in well wherever he is selected to play....so far this season at both scrum half and second row (did he play SR or LF last night ?)/centre in the same match





For the u-20's he's mostly played SO.



Where do we think he will end up ?

Not sure about that. Sinny was top class at an early age. Ward has the potential to be a real top class player though. Also how good was burgess for the bulls?

He's reputed to be the fourth best player in his family...

Looked impressive last night

Looking at his size I think he's got to eventually fit in at 6 - exactly the place we are going to need some class replacement in the next few years. I'm in favour of having a bigger 13. When the Aussies put the likes of Paul Gallen there and even we had Bailey there last week with Sinny bat 6, the advantages are obvious.

I think its a bit unfair to start comparing Ward and Sinfield although i know its been mentioned by many others within the game let the lad develop and make his own headlines.

For me Ward will be at 13 or 6 and imo will be a very very good player for us wherever he eventually settles.

If the BBC commentary from last week is to be believed, they claim the Leeds players are calling him 'kev'...no pressure then.

I agree with that. Ward will fulfill a creative role and much like Sinny will be more of a pivotal SO than a forward. I think the numbers on the back do not reflect a players true role on the pitch. Because Burrow plays as an extra half back more than the traditional hooker role means we can play Bailey as a 3rd prop rather than a traditional 13. IMO Delaney playing in the 2nd row has arguably been our best prop this year.



If this trend continues then we may see more from the Nantwich 'all change' coaching methology with backs playing as forwards and juniors in the first team and first teamer stars as speckies in the stands
