hull2524:
Only the second match this year we going in as favourites. We know what happened in the last one. We should win on our recent form but this is a match which will tell us a lot about our mindset. NERVOUS
In their own way the games tomorrow night and next week are as big as any we've played so far this year. After that we move into a number of games against those clubs we're battling with for a play-off spot, so we really don't want to be dropping points against bottom three opposition.
We've made so much progress in the first half of the season, after the horrors of last year, putting down some solid foundations upon which to build the club back up. We need to keep up the momentum generated at Leigh and Catalans and start tomorrow night on the front foot right from the off. Going to Warrington at the end of this month on 19pts will give us a real platform on which to build as that run of home games comes round.
Even without Asiata and Pryce we should have too much all round against a Cas side who've struggled to even look average at times this year. But like you say, this has all the potential hallmarks of another Huddersfield debacle! In amongst all of our myriad failings over recent years has been a tendency to come out half-cocked after a week off, always looking lethargic as if we somehow can't get going again, but I'm hoping the new found professionalism that JC has brought to the club will see us avoid that particular bug bear tomorrow night.
We should be winning this one reasonably comfortably, by around 10-12pts, but I'm like you 2524, I always get the jitters before these types of games, we always seem to have an ability to trip ourselves up when they come around. Let's hope for a decent night's entertainment without everyone biting their fingernails with five minutes left to play.
Starting tomorrow night we need to make our home stadium a place where others fear to tread. Do that and we will be in really good shape rolling into September, way better shape than any of us could have dreamed of back in February. It's in our hands to make the second half of the season a real success. We have to show we're ready to grab these opportunities when they are presented to us. But I'll still be worried come kick-off tomorrow night, I always am, it goes hand in hand with being an Fc faithful doesn't it!!! We're never allowed to rest easy watching our club, bet tomorrow night's just the same
