New Punto's use pretty much the same engine that they always have, mainly because for the most part they are cheap and reliable. They are ok until they start getting on a bit when things atart to wear out like any car. As far as cheap run arounds go you can do worse.



No idea about that garage though, its been there in its latest guise for about two or three years now? I stand corrected though.

They (Fiat punto's) have a ery big problem with power stearing failing (watchdog last week), which Fiat are not accepting liability. Other than that, I've got an Alfa (same company) and its spot on!!

The old tags are long since gone!!!

Your best bet is to ask them if you can get the car checked out, Contact Ian at A + I Motors 278327 or Dave at DW Autos 260323 and ask them to check the car over prob only cost you £30 and you will have peace of mind

Done the check on my mobile all came back ok

As for the watch dog programme I watched

It and that was the grande punto 2008 and earlier

So not a problem there might go for a test drive

Toyota suffered the same issuse and several others last year.



Fiat are no better or worse than other makes and i see it first hand.



I run a little Alpa and its a cracking car, its not the most solid build but you don't have to pay solid build prices.
