No neither club could survive a merger atm, take the hardcore support away from both teams and all you would be left with,is disillusioned fans looking for a home.

both clubs cannot generate enough income, a 20,000 stadium groundshare should be made to happen. with this you cut costs and then maybe keep hold of the best players otherwise i cant really see either club winning anything again unless they get lucky cup draws like us the other year. it should be built in the middle of both clubs and we should get on with it, this should of been sorted yonks ago. as for mergers im not sure but it might be the only way forward for most clubs unless they get a sugar daddy who ploughs some cash in. the game is just a struggle for most clubs so some forward thinking is needed.
