You raised issues that need to be delt with by the coach, and then try to deflect away from your own points that you raised.
I await an answer to who you think should deal with the ego's in the dressing room, who picks the team and who plays a major part in the recruitment of the club? All issues you raise.
I think it is good you are going to bed so you cannot talk yourself into another corner. If you have the nouce to be able to answer the questions raised i look forward to continuing the discussion, i do not think you will though as you cannot.

 '" i would expect noble would pick the team??, c'mon for a man of knowlege i thought that even you would have got that one??, but he picks from what he has, the damage at wiagn was doen many years before noble got the job, i read further on in your post that we were meant to have targeted buderas but ended up with piggy, so are we meant to be happy with second fiddle choices??, as i said the damage in tearms of the salary cap was done long before noble arrived. As for dealing with ego's in the dressing room, the coach would be the one to sort that out but, if there are enough players with ego's which there are at wigan it would be an almost impossible task, as i have said before the players run the rule over the coach...lokk at ian millward as your example of that one...we signed noble who as you claim before, could have been anyone to step in to replace millward as the team wanted to impress, so why have they stopped impressing???, and if we have a team good enough as you say who love the game of rugby league, why the hell would you wanna bum around and look dis-interested when on the fireld of play infront of 14,000 fans, because they dont want him there anymore and wnat to push the squeeze on gettin him out???.the recruitment of the club, well there again id like to think noble, but this is wigan and we know from experience that the coach's we've seen and gone have been the fall guy's in the past of some bad recruitment rumoured to be by an ex- chairman. in short these are problems we've had for years so to throw the buck at nobles feet is really lame imo. | | |

I think Noble has earned himself this season by his achievement last season of getting to the elimination game for a second year running - considering many Wigan fans thoughts that the squad was average at best its not a bad position to get to.
What I'm not so sure about is can he take Wigan the next step?? This years team should be classed as a Noble team - of your main squad of 23 for this season (not counting 6 club juniors):
- 9 were handpicked by Noble or the hierarchy to which am sure Noble would have consented to.
- 10 have progressed through the club over the last 5 years or so, only Goulding & O'Loughlin seem to gain any disapproval but not by the majority or you.
- The remaining 4 are Richards, Leuluai, Paleaaesina and Bailey – to which only Bailey doesn’t seem to come up to some of your standards.
If your season isn’t successful I’d certainly want the owners to look for alternative options, but what is a successful season in the current situation? Would you be happy with a GF/Challenge Cup Final place or does it have to result in a trophy THIS season?'"
Good post.
Thats something that nobody can agree on nor decide. What makes a succesful season? I'd be happy with a final appearence and/or higher league finish than last season. Also, a win over Saints on derby day would be nice, but going off your second half performance V Wire, that looks very unlikely! | | |
