Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. | Where did my post go???
I wanted to say that while it would easy to get angry about them not taking advantage of a winning position, that it was still a really good performance. It was freezing cold and the pitch was as bad as I've ever seen it (puddles everywhere), but the handling was remarkably good until the last ten minutes and the commitment was strong throughout. Sure, there were bad decisions at the end that lost us possession, but Hull were worse. So, disappointment about the result, but a really good effort and a (rare) reminder of the skills and passion that hooked me on the game in the beginning. Cheer up, everyone.

Thats what you get from this Lad. Wish he was bigger but as ive said before hope he can move to hooker where he could be very effective. There will be a vacancy at the end of season. www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_smile.gif" alt=" icon_smile.gif" title="Smile" />

Kieran Dixon's try was brilliant. He made a fool of Thomas Briscoe, supposedly Englands No 3 winger, in the course of it.
/>
Soon people will be comparing Kieran Dixon to Jason Robinson.

2 things - you have mentioned Briscoe is a winger, he was playing full back and his positioning all afternoon was awful! Should have hung on in the tackle though.
/>
Secondlly, they are already comparing him to Robinson - there was an article last week

Quote ="Paddock Punter"Trouble is Dragons, Wire, Bulls, Leeds, Saints are next up!'"
At the risk of someone suggesting I am willing to accept mediocrity my comment suggesting I
hope to have a bit of a good feel good factor for a good while to come is based on the fact that we
have put two very decent performances together. I am not suggesting we will turn over the above,
though as we all know Cats dont always travel well as we have seen over the years and I think if we are
are on our game a win versus Bradford is not out of the question at home.
/>
But yes I am one of those fans who whilst obviously wanting to see a win every week I can accept
a loss, draw whatever as long as I have seen the team put on a performance.
/>
Thinking about it Leeds away and Saints at home are not exactly no hopers although I accept
Wire will be. www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_wink.gif" alt=" icon_wink.gif" title="Wink" />

I think that the St Helens side who won 54-0 on our ground on the 6th July 2008 was as strong a side as I've ever seen here with a starting line up that day of :
Wellens; Gardner, Gidley, Talau, Meli; Pryce, Long; Graham, Cunningham, Hargreaves, Sculthorpe, Wilkin and Roby.
/>
But they are living off a past reputation after years of underinvestment in the playing squad and the team that scraped past Salford is not one we need fear:
Wellens; Gardner, Turner, Jones, Meli; Charnock, Wilkin; Perry, Ashe, Puletua, Manu, McCarthy-Scarsbrook, and Flanagan.
/>
I don't see St Helens as being any stronger than Hull FC/Hull KR, so if we turn up with the right attitude we will do well.
/>
We have also won away at Leeds twice in four seasons and Mac is not known for performances in the regular rounds nor for the quality of his acquisition so that is a game we could do well in.
/>
Having seen our last two thrashings at Warrington away, that is about the only game I am really nervous about but that being said I don't see us having Karl Pryce and O'C on one side or us rotating Dave Williams and Ben Bolger this year.
/>
Although our home form is not too great, don't forget we have lost to Wigan and Huddersfield away as well, so we have lost 2 of the hardest games as well as blowing easier chances.
/>
We need our best support possible against the Catalans and if we can roar them on maybe again we can create what may start as an artificial enthusiasm but turn into something more as the players respond. If we give them everything just maybe they will give us everything.
/>
In the three home losses, nothing led to nothing, that is for sure.
