Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com

Quote ="'alifax"Northern rail cup winners, 3rd in the league, 60 points away at Featherstone, 60 points away at Sheffield... But hey, don't let any of that affect you making a knee jerk ">reaction.'"
Yet bar 1 or 2 games it has still been relatively unfulfilling to watch, i've often got bored during games something which i've never really found before

| Quote ="fevfan76"The decision to get rid of black and sign handforth was always a strange one for me. Black was always a player I feared when we played fax. Someone who could create something out of nothing. Handforth I was happy to so see the back of when at fev. Not good enough'"
Not strange at all. Handforth is Karl's mate, he had to find a place for him and he now has a job for life.

Quote ="'alifax"For no other reason than curiosity, i'd be interested to hear; out of Karl's signings last pre season, who has been good enough,
Craig Ashall - Awesome at the start of the season, tailed of slightly but still a useful player.
Callum Casey - Constantly played out of position but gives 100%, good signing and should pull through more next season.
Ross Divorty - Ravaged by injuries but brilliant when he has played.
Paul Handforth - Inconsistent, brilliant half the time and can control and win games, but then goes missing regularly.
Ben Heaton - Similar to Divorty.
Sean Hesketh - Liked him, never really given a chance.
Dane Manning - Outstanding!
Iain Morrison - Same as Divorty.
Mick Nanyn - N/A
Wayne Reittie - Not a winger, so not a brilliant signing in that respect, but has the potential to be a brilliant player in the middle.
Adam Robinson - Outstanding.
Anthony Thackray - Very useful player and one of the (if not the top) try scorers. But he (IMO) wastes a half back spot, he'd be more use at Loose where he could play his own game and free up a half back spot for a proper half back.
Ste Tyrer - Very good signing, but we haven't spread the ball out enough for him which we should look to do more next ">season.'"

| There was more to Powell's outburst when he became a "Blackpool donkey for a day" than meets the eye. A good friend of mine within the game at admin level told me that that mr Probiz thought Fev had a shoe-in into SL depending on several scenarios, one of them being the number of clubs on the edge financially in SL. Another was the lack of clubs who "tick the box", and the ones who are actually realistically going to apply for a licence if & when they do tick relevant boxes, one of them being NRC winners. Had Fev beaten Fax that glorious day, their own odds shortened drastically unless Fax could somehow make the GF.
Fev acknowledge that Fax are their biggest rivals on & off the pitch, having spoken to many people at their club over the last couple of years, including one of their playing staff. So for them to get out-witted on the day was only the icing on the cake really.
I'm sure although disappointed with the way Fax's season has ended our coach will be thinking that's year 1 out of the way, a SL box ticked, now to continue with the re-building plan on the field because that significant box ticked allows him to leave the off-field things to take care of themselves and concentrate on his own role.
Just for the record, I wouldn't dream of purchasing a season ticket unless the game's structure & fixture calendar is altered. I work shifts and cannot guarantee attending home games, it's as simple as that. What I will say is that for whatever reason the club award 2 year deals to so many players it may stop some supporters making a dash before deadline date to purchase unless it's suicidally cheap in a business sense as we've seen at other clubs, because as I understood things, new-signings were always drip fed to us to raise interest in the off-season.
Most of the people who know me through talking RL with me will know my feelings already but apart from the odd game I think our performances have been pretty frustrating all year long & I cannot put my finger on the reasons why, far too many and too often we've won games late on after not firing for long periods of the matches. I maybe old school but I think other sides have worked us out a lot of the time this season, I much prefer to watch flair players than this modern-structured, manufactured RL that most clubs play. I have hardly watched any SL games on tv all season, maybe I'm just losing interest at the game in general.

| Quote ="fevfan76"Funny that I have read so many times on here that the league means nothing and its the play offs that mean everything.
Well those little 3 points that you only finished behind us ensured you got nowhere near the playoff final. You were damn lucky to get a shot at Sheffield'"
We finished the season very badly, and your performances on the field put you in a justified position as league leaders and in the Grand Final. My point was that "you had a couple o good games in an otherwise crap season pal we had a couple o bad ones in a fantastic season" translating to a 3-point gap in the table seems somewhat awry in its logic.

Quote ="Rotherham Fev Fan"No Chip. Neither do I consider my club to be the smaller of the two, not that I believes it matters either way.
There is some mileage in your other comments. Fax are considered our greatest rivals at this level. They have done us in 3 big games since 2010 - a period we have otherwise dominated in the league. The natural crowing from Fax fans after those victories as the well earned bragging rights belonged to Fax, stuck deep in the psyche of some at Fev.
So when Fax get evicted fromt he play offs in such gratuitous fashion, the Fev forum and facebook pages went into some elation. As did my texts to those Fax fans I know well enough who were at the game.
Engaging on another teams fans forum immediately after a big loss is a bit taboo to me. Especially if they're hurting. I didn't appreciate it when one of two came on the fev forum/fb page. - I suppose some felt they need to redress the balance.
It's a marker of respect I suppose. The one team we wanted to see beaten has been, so emphatically. We can now get on with planning for the final because that bit of suspicious de ja vu nonesense is now over ">with.'"
Make that 4 times we have beaten Fev in big games try the Play Off semi final win in 2009 too!
I admire Fev for your consistency, I keep wondering when things won't go as well for you one season like you seem to keep clear of long term injuries especially to your key players like Liam Finn, surely your luck will run out one year?
We need to learn from Fev, thats why our wins against the best team in our league feel so good, its like beating Man U in the Premiership, the only thing I don't see Fev being better than us is your ground and potential for SL, sorry to say but Feathersone is too small a place to sustain a SL team and the RFL will hold that against you, as we all know its nowt to do with on the field sadly its off it.Come on you have had 3 terrific seasons yet your support is still only around the 2,200 average mark this for a winning team (only 5 losses in the league in 3 years is it?)Not saying our support is great but I think we would have had bigger crowds if we had the same kind of consistency that Fev have had, we had a bad season last year and NRC win apart an average one this year really.
