Wardle’s performance tonight was best ive ever seen by an Englishman in a Wigan jersey. Ive had zero alcohol so i can’t blame my thoughts blighted by hops and yeast. Absolutely outstanding. I never give a ten but tonight Wardle was a different class to any other centre ive ever seen live except for perhaps Miles and Lyon. A ten out ten for me and fully deserved. People say King is sorely missed. I watch Wardle and smile with pure unashamed satisfaction. Im a Carmont fan but at this rate Wardle is in a different sphere to Carmont and hopefully young kids will watch and look replicate a master at his work.
To be fair, Itchy, although I fully agree with you, people who were saying that King was missed weren't claiming he was better than Wardle, more than Keighran had a rather indifferent start to the season.
Loved tonight. I thought Leigh were great and we were even better. French was ridiculously good and somehow, I thought Wardle was the best player on the field! We’ve got some team on our hands here.
Just that moment when French scooped the ball up, when I was thinking, oh no, the best he can do is knock it over the dead-ball line. But what do I know? Why not do a U-turn through the posts and bring the ball back way upfield? Just worth the price of admission alone. And then there's Jake Wardle... Just great entertainment.
