For some clubs im sure they have found alternative ways to plug the financial gap in terms of sponsorship with the lure of sky exposure, lower running costs and corporate payments.
1,000 fans per home game @£25.00 a ticket and buying 2 beers and a pie for say another £8.00 is £360,000 a year. Wigan lost 6,000 fans over th last few years....that's the same number as the SKY money. Which sponsor has plugged that gap?

It costs me less than £25 to get into Warrington, and I spend £0 once inside the ground. I hope that isn't the reason why we never win the Grand Final.

As in any rental in the real world if payment isn't received the tenant is removed. Smaller premises will cope with the attendances currently seen but if franchises are ever bought back then Salford, as a club, would not be offered a Super League spot.
In which case, would Wakey, Cas & Hudds be offered a spot ?

in reality away fans dont number anything like that many and most home fans pay nothing like £25 a game, not to mention concessions. Many clubs ( eg wigan in your example) make zero from sales at the stadium. Your maths is flawed.

wakey and cas still havent fulfilled the franchise requirements from last time around. I'm not sure how Salfords rental works but Hudds and Wigan pay a rental based on the numbers attending. the smaller the attendance the smaller the rent. so if attendances drop so does the outlay.

I think that requirement died with licensing and is clearly no longer a pre-requisite of Superleague membership.
I've been in Belle Vue when it sold out for the Cas play off game, and it was a fantastic experience. Equally I've been at Huddersfield in their modern stadium before some very low SL crowds that wasn't that great.
Grounds need to be safe and that includes not over filling them, and that's about it for me unless I wan't to goad any Wakey or Cas fans on here which I don't. I'm not suggesting you do either BTW, but it happens all too often......

my comment was in response to whether salford would fulfil franchise requirements now - in that some clubs still havent fulfilled requirements made on them a decade ago - so salford, who did what was asked of them likely wouldnt be bottom of the list!
