Right, I've posted something similar to this before. St Helens may be classed as Merseyside and I put Merseyside down as my address. However, scousers come from Liverpool, which is also in Merseyside but not St Helens. Close proximity to someone does not make you the same as those people. Leeds is close to Bradford so are all those people in Leeds Bradfordians? of course not.
There is a homosexual couple live close to me, but that doesn't mean that I or any of my neighbours are gay does it. You may think calling Saints fans scousers is a wind up but it doesn't really bother me that much. I'm born and bred in St Helens, 12 miles from Liverpool. I have worked in Liverpool and met some of the best people you could ever hope to meet there and I'd rather be classed as a scouser than a Manc any day of the week.
