on the other side of the coin are my kids who have watched since i introduced them to the game at central park. Still only teenagers they (3) and their mates have season tickets and are intending going every single game (bar catalan..cant afford) . they all have part time jobs, in some cases 2 jobs, as well as college, to fund their away days.
thats the future, and it looks rosy.
i dont think form will greatly affect a casual newby, as i think they will be more put off by the stagnant rugby we are playing at the mo. If they see good games they will be bitten by the rugby bug no matter what the results.
the ones who it will affect imo are the older fans who have been spoiled by our past success and who have grown old watching flowing entertaining rugby.
these fans are the ones who are now thinking twice about sitting in the cold, suffering 2 days of pain from their athritic joints after matches, .....they are the ones beginning to think "Is it worth the pain and effort to watch my team play awful rugby, get beaten by so called no hopers, when i can sit by the fire with my memories of yesteryear?"
if we start to lose the younger fans.......then its a slippery slope we are on
well IMO the cost is an issue to what were being served up. it cost me 46 quid for tickets + another 20or so for drinks for me and my 2 kids.
in total around 70 quid to watch that shower perform like they could not be bothered. im a loyal fan to the core. but my patients is being stretched to the limit.

Sometimes five drives and kick are the right options.
I've picked out Goulding on another thread for making three bad decisions with ball in hand on Friday, but if it had been the Wakefield game I could have said the same about George Carmont and probably others.
Gareth Hock does it time and time again. I'm not saying get rid, but they, and many of the others need to know when to pass and when to stick hold.
You may call it expansive rugby I prefer sensible rugby.
But we have no variety. Of course 5 drives and a kick are needed sometimes but the opposition can read us like a book. We need dummy runners, switches in play, a variety of kicks and to give the wingerws a chance.
As I have previously posted, we lost most of our ball against Wakefield when we were driving it in and a number of opponents made the tackle. Everyone on the ground knew that Coley was going to tap that free kick on the line and unfortunately so did about 5 Wakefield players and he naturally lost it. I remember Carmont running into touch but We didn't lose it by passing it wide. Of course we threw it on the ground but it was recovered. If I was a coach, I'd watch other teams, copy their best moves and put them into practice.
Our best (only) move is the diagonal kick. We never have a move from a scrum.
Still...it gives us something to talk about...roll on Friday.

And No matter what has happened in the last 3/4 years and in the next 3/4 years, nothing will ever compare to what we dished out!
Real World Class stars, winning consistantly (Without saying it was 1 game too far ) taking on the Aussies at club level, international level and in their own backyard and kicking ass without feeling "Homesick! "!
Then again, weve only got ourselves to blame for dragging down the standard of British RL just so we can call it competitive!

Yeah, but yet we still never managed to beat them internationally in a series, so we cant have kicked ass that much really.
We need fans turning up in numbers no matter how were playing or what style were playing cos we will be there when any coach as come n gone. You only need to look at football and teams in the 3rd division or wot ever they call it are getting over 20,000 week in week out we need that kind of loyalty.

What teams in the 3rd tier regularly get over 20,000 each week?
