It's far too easy to get on the high horse re events at the recent Bulgaria v England game and the institutionalised racism of the quinziste game, but the reasons behind Baitieri's international retirement should not go unremarked on.



He formally left the squad following the 9-a-side thing after a senior FFRXIII official said of their Jamaican opponents "You will bring down these monkeys from their coconut palms". Baitieri has gone to the press with the story and it's now in the hands of m'learned friends so be careful what you say about it. I can't see how the position within the FFRXIII remains tenable though.
