I think you have to be pleased for him, he played his part here, and yes we will miss him, but we all knew the score he was coming here for experience and both parties benefited .

He'd probably have been good enough for Wakey's first team next season but considering their plight (and assuming he doesn't move on) he must be a near certainty now.

Well, and I confess to being both gob-smacked and joyous in equal measures if true, League Weekly are reporting that Liam Kay will sign for the Dons on a permanent basis once the season is over.

It probably was written before then so it may be more up in the air now, however I heard from a number of DR players from various clubs that their year in the Championship has made them think about about playing at this level. The potential for earning alone is better down here as they are more likely to play every week AND can get a job away from Rugby as well. At Super league clubs some get about £6k a season + appearance money (which rarely happens cause they don't get picked).

Someone get him on the phone now and get him signed up before he goes on holiday!!

I must say if we could get the quality of player like Kay and in particular get Liam himself, I would be well revved up for next season.

There's a suggestion that the Dons have also helped to sort him out with a job so that ties in with your comments.

Well if true it gets a Jesus on a bike type reaction from me. Was reading that he was out of contract at Wakefield but thought he was bound to be snapped up by a local SL club.

You've brought him on & he looks a real prospect. Don't think we can offer enough to tempt him away from a PT contract + proper job, but if not hope he stays with you for a year by which time he'll be good and ready for SL - I hope we can afford him by then.

started off playing at centre for us and I didn't think he was that good but he moved to stand off when Cooky got injured and had a stormer and then played alongside Cooky at half back and has been a revelation, Was a bit surprised to see him on the Wing for Wakey but glad he was at 6 for your last game and had a stormer so if we sign him then Brilliant Xmas has come early
