Doncaster Rugby League Club have strengthened their back line with the dual registration signing of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats centre Danny Cowling.



20 year-old Cowling joins the club at an exciting time and will go straight into Tony Miller's squad for Sunday's re-arranged league game at Rochdale (3pm kick-off).



Cowling originates from Pontefract and signed a one year deal with the Wildcats in 2012. He has represented England at under 16's level and is well known for his strength and speed.



Dons' head coach Miller said: "I'm delighted Danny has joined the Dons - he's a big, natural athlete and I'm sure he'll cause our opponents problems.



"Danny has been in good form for Wakefield's academy team and scored their winning try in last weekend's win over Salford.



"Once again I'd like to thank Wakefield for allowing another of their promising players to join us and I'm looking forward to getting the best out of him."

Spurr appeared in the back row on Sunday for a little bit (and Mick Butterfield had a few scrums at prop as well).

No new injuries according to Miller in the Free Press.

Mick Butterfiled usually goes in at loose forward at the scrums. It seems to be a common tactic for many full backs these days.



Chris Spurr into the second row seems like a good move to me, if the lad from Wakefield is ready for first team action. Chris is a good organiser and tackler and he should add some pace and mobility to the pack if he plays there.



It'll be a tough game at Rochdale but I'm really looking forward to it. Hopefully there'll be enough interest in the supporters bus.
