Went today, absolutely fecking freezing and was sat with a bunch of pre-historic Salford morons who now confirm to me 100% that they are some of the worst fans ever to grace the game. Some of the Littler comments were a disgrace considering the service he gave them.



Anyway on to the game, Salford had a patchy team with a few first teamers and reserves mixed in while Leigh were pretty much full strength. A pretty dour game overall with Leigh sneaking the win in the end, The lobby do look to have a decent pack this year but questions will remain over the outside backs and half backs.



David Mills also played for Leigh and looked about a stone overweight and did pretty much nothing, most impressive for them was again Hill.



They also ran out of hotdogs which is a disgrace on a day as cold as this.

Exactly what Ranulph Fiennes said when he descended Everest minus 3 fingers and a toe.

I think the reason Mills looked like he did nowt was because the likes of Hill, Meekin and Bibey were absolutely immense. Was a pretty strong side from Salford as well, all things considered (and let's not forget we were minus Paul and Govin, had a trialist in Mills and two kids in Nicholson and Pownall who have only just come up from the reserves).

Was a little weird yesterday, spotted Mike Morrison in the ground, Ste Nash playing and David Mills playing.

I know. Farcical. 7 overseas players when some have to make do with 1 and they're whinging that they can't do with what they've got against a side with a fraction of the salary cap. Well done to Leigh for beating them.

As most SL Vs Champ challenge cup games end in a cricket score bar the odd exception why don't we make the SL clubs play by our 1 quota spot rule? Gives more kids a run out and closer more exciting games
