| Tyrer's defence is absolute gash, just as bad as Hartley's but they are both they good attacking players although Hartley is far too injury prone. I would still have a fit Tim Hartley over Ste Tyrer though.

| Quote -VM-="-VM-"Hartley is awful, Toa when fit is our best centre so it would be silly to get rid of him. Hartley is the rumour i heard.'"
Honestly, who is going to take him ?
Only other option is that the injury is worse than expected and he is being paid up although again this counts on the cap I think.

| I don't think we would miss Hartley although he did bag some good trys last year...
People talk about his goal kicking but to be honest even that can be shaky. If it's on then he is good, but if it is off he misses even relatively simple kicks.
I'm not sure how sound these rumours are. It looks like someone asked a question and then that was whipped up into a frenzy on the other board with names just being added into the pot.
We know we need one or two players so maybe this is just people putting two and two together and coming up with 5..

Not if you de-register the player a la Gary Hulse 2004ish..
O'Connor is already ploughing a fortune into the club at the moment so how happy he would be to take this option is anyone's guess.

| I'd have to disagree about Hartley. Up until his injury last year I thought he was playing quite well at centre. I think it was something like 7 tries in his first 12 games. Not a bad return and he set his winger up for a few tries aswell.

I agree, he is a talented player, just a shame about his injurys at the moment we can't afford to have talented players missing so many games and taking up a spot under the salary cap when we really need to add to the pack, SOc is a no nonsense businessman as we have already seen

| Would love to see Tyrer or Nanyn back in the centres. Class players at this level.

| you could get rid of doran and hartley.
for the size of him i havent really seen him have a good game well at leaset the 2 games against fax anyway he didnt have good games he might be a good option to get rid of to open some space on the roster.
i expected hartley to do ok with you. when he was at fax he never had the best squad around him in previous seasons i thought he would become a good player with you but sounds like he has never really hit the hights still there will be someone in the division that would take him if he was fit.

Nanyn is now a second rower! They have still not found his heart though!

| So in summary, you are at the limit of salary cap and dont reside in France/Wales, due to that money being spent badly your ambitions are greater than your capabilities. In order to redress the balance you are looking to offload some contracted underperformers and replace with fresh blood.
The question is how? The underperformers will not give up their contracts and I am sure if they did some huge questions will be asked.

Are you kidding? Both are great kickers and admittidly not brilliant in defence but Tyrer is twice as dangerous in attack and alot quicker also!

| In reply to IET, the thread on the TIW board about Tyrer was started by The Horses Mouth, who has been right on these things before, so it may not be a case of putting 2 + 2 together.
Tyrer is still only 20 so I don't think he would count on the salary cap.
As for the Korkidas rumour I know he was at the ground on Monday morning so something must be afoot.
Paying half of his wages on a loan deal would mean around £30K, needed to be freed up.
TKL not getting on with Cullen anyone?
