We have got Kids in there.. Ostick, Flynn, Simm played last night Yates has been a regular but is currently injured and Grady has got some more game time this year also. Thompson is still fairly young too but is being thrown in at the deep end. |

I thought it was worth the tussle. One on one and Doran was trying to wrench the ball clear. Fair enough they were on the floor but a couple of times last night the elbow of the ball carrying arm did not touch the ground but the tackle was given as 'complete'. Dodd's dragging of Adebisi into touch (Or whatever his name was) was another example.
As for going for the two.. I think it was exactly the right decision. Level the game, get the ball back and take it up the field to try and win it.
It's all very well talking with hindsight, but if we had got the ball back and put the one pointer over and kept them out it would have been a brilliant decision.
As it was we conspired to throw the game away ourselves. |

'Discipline' is an interesting topic! We, at Leigh, are bottom of the 'Fair Play' League, mainly as a result of penalties conceded. If you get down to LSV on Thursday, buy a programme, (PLEASE!!) and have a look at the feature I've done on penalty stats. I know stats can be misleading, but we have comfortably won our penalty counts at home, (so far) but been hammered on them away - where we have won our only games!!
I wouldn't argue with most of the penalties we have conceded, but I would argue about the ones some of our opponents HAVEN'T conceded. (e.g. both Batley and Doncaster only conceded three each - and they aren't doing too well in the Fair Play League either!)
Also, some refs give penalties against us, for fun, (e.g. Laughton) yet others (e.g Hewer) give very few. That smacks of inconsistency!! |
