Does this mean that the reserve game a couple of weeks ago counted towards his ban? Or did we find another loop hole? Dual reg perhaps?

Be interesting if Ellis still plays, I would at the expense of Thompson. I'd also like to see Litten back on the bench to give us impact.

The wakey game only counts because we had a reserve game that weekend instead of a first team game.

Litten isn't in the squad, but I would agree. Leeds have some big immobile lumps in their pack and Litten could have exploited that.

Difficult call between Thompson and Lane but just gone with Thompson for the extra versatility. He will primarily be used as a prop but can pretty much fill in anywhere.

Another reason why the club didn't appeal the ban, I guess.

But Ellis isn't in the full time squad, how we are getting around the cap I have no idea.

Logan went out on loan this week, so imagine that might have something to do with it? Pure speculation, but Ellis won't be on a elite player's salary anymore as reserve team coach. If he's got that passion back and his body is up to it, even for a short while, then long may it continue.

He'll be getting £££ somehow, no player his age is going to risk it for nothing.

So you reckon he's said to Radders, look gaffer, I'll play again, but I want a decent chunk of cash coming to me if I do?



I don't know the man, but everything I have heard and read would suggest otherwise.



I imagine he put his hand up to play when we needed some experience, and got the taste back for it. How long for? who cares!

How can players get experience without playing though?





Ellis is a class act, and I love that he is involved, but he isn't the future.



But then Radford did the same, maybe Ellis thinks he retired too early, who knows.

one in the eye for these backward looking clubs who have turned their back on youth and reserve grade teams.we must be the only major sport who dont have an official reserve grade,no wonder the aussies are streets ahead and the game is dying over here.look at wigan some great youngers have come through there youth system and played in a teams till they were ready.now they are reduced to signing average past it players like sammut.

Lets be clear though - it only happened because we didn't have a 1st team game that weekend.



What would've been interesting is if we'd played a 1st team match on the Thursday and had a reserve match on the Fri/Sat/Sun, then according to the RFL rules, both those maches would count towards a suspension!

Sends the message out that he hasn't been good enough and needs to improve as currently being outplayed by all the other forwards including Ellis.



I'd also start Paea, playing better starting than off the bench. I'd have Taylor on the bench imagine him and Ellis coming on after 20 mins.
