| Quote BP1="BP1"Let's say for purely speculative purposes that the above comes to pass, we somehow defeat Leeds who promptly sack R. Smith and persuade Rowley/Salford to come and be their new coach.
In the days that follow, we then go and appoint Rohan Smith as our new coach!!
So, having sacked Uncle Tony three weeks previous, and then having pushed Leeds into making a sudden abrupt change in their coaching set-up, we then go and appoint Nephew Rohan as Uncle Tony's replacement!!
Surely not even we could contemplate going down that road, could we? that would be perverse even by the mad-house standards that is Hull Fc 2024!!!
Mind you, I wouldn't dismiss any theory/possibility right now such is the unreal air surrounding the club. Honestly don't think anything would surprise me any more with us!!
:sho
I never suggested we would go Rohan at all that would for me be a disaster
but a lot of Salford fans seemed resigned to losing Brierley to Leeds when Smith goes, which most pundits believe is just a matter of time. Fact is with us at present with the turnover of coaches we have had the players attitude over the last few years, the uncertainty about investment, the failing quality of our senior playing group and most of all the most committed and thus pretty demanding fanbase (which is extremely long suffering but getting to the end of their tether) and we are hardly anyones dream job or an appealing call are we?
All that will be very daunting for young coaches picking their way through a career path and the older ones will be on the phone to Gareth ellIs Tony Smith Lee Radford and Andy Last who are all likely to give us a glowing testimonial !!!!!!!!!. Plus anyone coming in know that they are at least second choice and as I said earlier we are as a club pretty toxic ands its hard to see us enduing up with anyone but our current caretaker coach, I hope that's not the case because he's been around the culture of the club for a while now and we desperately need a new broom. Fingers crossed!

| Think Mcdermott would be too like Smith, we need a coach to bring the team together, don't think he is that person.
Honestly rather have Horne.
Think we will go for Briers if he turns us down I think we will try for Mcguire.Just have a feeling we are after a young British coach

| Personally I feel this job, is too big and has too many pitfalls for an inexperienced Manager.
We've been here before with Agar,Gentle, Radford and Hodgson.
This squad needs to be physically fitter and stronger , and they need clarity from the Manager on defensive and offensive structure.
Unfortunately Tony Smith was reluctant or unable on both of these points.
If the guy appointed is inexperienced, I hope I am proved wrong.

| I'm not against brining in an assistant, but they need to be from a good system. I'd feel really un easy about brining as assistant from one basketcase club to another.
Not sure what McGuire has done to prove himself as a top assistant. Look at how Briers transformed Wigans and Brisbanes attack, from the outside it doesn't look like McGuire has had the same impact at Rovers or Cas. Plus i think his links to Rovers and Leeds would mean fans may turn on him quicker as he's not seen as "one of us".

| For me, Rowley wS the only viable UK based option. Now we need to go for an overseas experienced assistant who has some fresh ideas and a new perspective on things. Any of the other names mentioned would be a big disappointment and a massive risk for me

| Not suprised Mcguire turned down Cas, he is a smart bloke and saw the squad and resources. Think he'd take the right job, think he would have took the Rovers job if offered it.
Thought he did well at Rovers and was a big part in turning them around.
Saying that don't think he was what we need just have a feeling he could be an option.
