Welcome to the NEW RLFANS.COM. After twenty-five years of service, the old site expired over the last few days. To maintain service we have had no option but to make an early switch to the new site which was in development/testing. Some elements of the new site are unfinished, such as; page numbering and quotations. We will fix these minor issues as soon as we can, please bear with us. If you are having problems logging in, please try a different browser or platform, if problems persist then email support@rlfans.com

Quote ="SirStan"FWIW, I don't think we will eclipse your opening attendance anyway, not that it's important, apart from those interested in dick ">measuring.'"
If you track both clubs attendances over the last 10 years or so, it would be a significant achievement if Rovers first home match has a larger attendance than Hull's.
It would say alot about the state of both clubs.

Quote ="hokeydokey"fans from both sides of the City have always said this is a RL city and they are right,so why do the Clubs need to spend thousand on advertising?Do we think thousands of people have not heard of either side and there are thousands waiting to be converted? I would like to bet that Rovers will have spent more in adverts then they have taken in raised pass sales,to be fair to Pearson his back us or we fail had a far better effect than any advertising did. A winning side will be bring fans in nothing else. Even a failed x factor singer will demand a decent wad of money and IMO they will probably lose more than they will gain. Both Clubs have lost passholders since city got back in the top flight and that as had a lot to do with it along with mediocre seasons or should be poor.Rovers may well get a record but like last season will not bring fans back,Rovers despite the spinwere down in two thirds of home games last season compared to the previous season only the freebies and discounted tickets made it look better'"
If we follow this model the game will die. A winning side will bring in fans who already have watched RL and theres no doubt that will help but it wont entice kids to go, both clubs need to up there game to get kids in and then keep them interested. Last year we had a real push for our opening game (similar to this year) but then did next to sod all after that, the prematch was rubbish (unless in the new stand) and then add on the rubbish game that inevitably followed it put off hardened fans never mind new ones.
Hull used to be the kings of spin in the run up to games, yes it was annoying and easy to mock when it went pear shaped but it does seem a case of throwing the baby out with the bathwater

Quote ="Mrs Barista"Interesting sponsorship model, didn't know religious groups provided financial backing for sports teams. You live and learn. Hope there's no ">blaspheming.'"
I think its a perfect fit, they gain valuable lessons in worship, get to hear all about Judas and understand divine intervention (also known as the video ref).

| Well the team certainly laid the platform today in terms of early feelgood factor. Hope to see a big push on tickets for Friday's game now.

Indeed and the new online and print at home ticket options get rid of the no cash turnstiles issue. We aren't at home for another few weeks due to the World Club break so I hope we get a good turnout on Friday.
