| Good signing, but I’m a bit gutted about Halsall moving the other way.

| Very happy with this, two centres that can create space for their wingers, two wingers that can finish, a fullback that can do anything and two very good creative halves.
I feel a little light headed.

| Made up with Wardle. Took a keen interest in him since he went on loan to Wire and watched him simply hoping the rumours of him coming were true. There are things to work on but he looks a classy runner of a ball.
I can’t say I’m happy to lose the two youngsters though but Halsall clearly didn’t fit in to Peets plans and we seem to be putting our faith in Harvie Hill over Bibby.

| Need to put my hand up and admit that I didn't think this was going to happen.
Glad to be proved wrong.

| Wardle is a great get for Wigan.
The Halsall/Bibby moves are interesting. I can understand Halsall wanting to play regularly but will he do that at Huddersfield with all their outside backs? Never quite bought into the hype around him - for me he's just not explosive enough for a centre in his early years.
With Bibby I have to say he's looked strong the few times Iv seen him for the reserves. But we do have a lot of front rowers and Wigan obviously feel the benefits of the deal outweigh the costs.

Must admit I read the press release about Halsall and how it’s his time to start playing regularly and I wondered where that will be because it’s still tough to see it at Huddersfield. He’ll have McGilllvary, Senior, Bibby, Naiqama, Cudjoe and Marsters to get past in the wing/centre spots. He’s possibly further back now then he was here. A move to Warrington would possibly have been a fast track to a centre spot, much in the same way Nicholson wanted a quick way to get a starting spot. They need a centre desperately.

Yeah, a much easier route into our team than Huddersfield imo

| Delighted that we've snapped him up, it was a glaring weakness in the squad &, quite simply, he improves us.
Shame about Halsall tho. I thought that, not only did he have great potential, but he'd work his way in as a utility back. I'd have rather have seen Miski leave than Sam.

| Great signing - but I do wonder where the cap space is coming from.
Ins: Wardle, King, Cooper + French upgrade
Outs: Halsall, Bibby x 2, Nicholson, Partington, Tommy, Hardaker.
Can’t see any of the exits being on big money but maybe they add up to enough. I could see there being some truth in the Bateman exit rumours off the back of this announcement
