What criteria was used to decide these fixtures............



Based on last years rules shouldn't Wigan have played Wakefield ??

Think Wire and Saints will be the teams to best next year so to "draw" Wire is a tough one especially when you consider how tight it is probably be to make the 4 again.

Based on the previous years table it was 1st v 2nd 3rd v 4th etc. was it not ?

No, Cas played Leeds and Catalans played Huddersfield, for example.

I may be in a minority but I hate the unfair nature of the whole thing. Nobody can deny that Saints & Hull (for example) have a definite advantage towards their top 4 aspirations with the fixtures as they are. Castleford, Wigan, Wire, Leeds etc are probably less happy.



If they want to keep it then there simply has to be a more fair way to sort the fixtures. I'd go with 1st v 2nd, 3rd v 4th etc based on last season's standings with the promoted team playing the lowest ranked team that weren't relegated.

If the game is to have this event and it mean anything in competitiveness then it should be based on League positions on a month prior to the weekend and not on last year's placings which are meaningless in 2018.

I've had these discussions for a few years and I agreed with this. I was convinced by others arguments that it be easier to market with better notice of fixtures but either way, to play some teams twice and another 3 times means the league will never have parity. I just don't like it!

I'd go for one round of the super 8s, then there is no disparity in the league. Play it on August bank holiday and bring the Cup final forward to May bank holiday.

Crowds would be abysmal with people on holiday.



Just do it on league positions 4 week before.

Only the same issue as we have with the CC final now, except there are 16 teams worth of fans to appeal to instead of 2 teams.
