See Wigan are following on from England RL, Leeds and Wire in allocating 'heritage numbers' for every player who has played for the club in debut order.



The numbers are to be announced at ''Heritage Day' on Friday.

please forgive me if I don't go too green with envy at all those fantastic honours for your cracking little club

I believe Leeds have never been relegated either.



While it isn't surprising to see fans of any club talk up their club and its history such a feat (worthy though it is of some acknowledgement) is not as impressive and noteworthy as it would be in for example soccer (where relegation has almost always been a feature) as in the vast majority of seasons in RL it would not have been possible to either be relegated or to be in any league but the top one (as only one existed). The feats of Bevan and the attendance records are rightly sources of pride for the Warrington club though (and for Halifax in terms of the attendance record).



Many clubs in the game have a history that their fans are proud of and for differing reasons. Not all are because of historical trophy hauls. The lack of a metal pot at the end of any given season doesn't make it any less a part of the club's heritage.

No sane warrington fan will ever claim to be a bigger club than wigan. It's just that i can't understand the constant 'no history' jibes that you only seem to level at us and never at clubs of a similar stature(Hull FC for example).

I wouldn't say Warrington are of a similar stature to Hull FC. They have won the league 3 times since Warrington last won it in 1955. To be honest though, it's pretty inconsequential, there's one team that dwarfs all others in English rugby league. A team that may soon collect it's 19th challenge cup, or it's 20th Championship.
