| I dont believe this story, but unfortunately I cant see Hansen being at Wigan for much longer. We have the likes of Mossop and Farrell coming through in the next few years and if we need a defensive 2nd rower then we can use Lockers with Tomkins at LF.
I will feel sorry for him if he does go, because he is great in defence and at times is very good in attack, if we can get him running the lines, best example is towards end of 2007 season v Bradford in the playoffs. Barrett was very good at gettin the best out of Hansen attacking wise.

| Quote thepriestman85="thepriestman85"In regards to the HB situation if we can learn one thing from Saints and Leeds (the two top teams in previous seasons) it’s the long partnerships they’ve had at HB- Long and Pryce- Burrow and Mcquire. If we want to win anything at all we have to look for a long term partner for Sam and let them gel. A new HB every two or three years like O’Neil, Orr, Trent isn’t the answer.
I agree tho we need a new HB, Centre and Prop I’d personally Gleeson, Dobson and LMS.'"
Absolutely spot on. Half the reason for our downfall recently is the turnover in players, especially at 6 & 7. Then you go and say you would like to have Dobbo??? Dobson is good, but we've already got Tommy and he's got 2 years experience at Wigan already, he's still young, still learning, getting better all the time & and could form a half back partnership with Sam T for the next 8 years.

| Quote andyed-wiganrl="andyed-wiganrl"realistically for salford to stay in SL their pipedream ground fast needs to become a reality and they need to double / triple their crowds to at least 8,000 before the next round of licences come in! As things are they are an embaressment to SL and unless this sort of revelation happens in the next 2 1/2 years salford will be gone IMO. Its sad when even a fledging club like celtic have poor, yet massively better support than salford'"
Being fair their ground is being built as we type - it's not a pipe dream, but you're right, they need to increase the crowd. Moving away from The Willows should help (wading through rivers of sewage is not what modern sports supporters expect), but they need to expand their marketing. I live in south Manchester and they have failed to exploit the massive potential for local support. The fat boys code at Sale/Stockport advertise round here far more.
The big Celtic crowd was for a St Helens match, and a brand new team. The real marker of their support will be matches against Wakefield half way through the year when it's tipping down with rain!

See about 30 pages ago when someone mentioned players like Luke Bailey, Petero Civonaceva, Fuifui Moimoi, Steve Price being off contract. Andy Lynch and LMS are english props off contract as well I think (not to sure bout LMS)

Dont think anybody's sure about LMS contact
Lynch is he better than Morley?
Moimoi no chance of a visa.
Price and Petero likely to retire arent there?
So options look limited.

I think the overall deal we would do for Lynch would be better for the one we would do for Morley as Morley is older and would want a lot more money
Petero still got a season or 2 left
Luke Bailey would be a lot better than Morley as would LMS even though he lacks experience
Not as limited as you thought

No oldies please as we'll potentially be losing Fielden at the end of a newbie's 1-2 year deal. This means we'll be changing 2 props at once and is not good for cohesion.

That poses the question of lack of experience and leadership then
If we are going to lose Phil Bailey (probably our most experienced player and most vocal player) then we need to replace his experience and leadership qualities
If we can find these in players in other positions I agree

Their ground has NOT started the building phase yet.
