I think it's a refreshing and different perspective, which doesn't always seem to be welcomed on this board. Ainscough has the makings of a classy winger, but is cack under the high ball and needs to work on positioning. In my opinion, his enthusiasm and commitment make him stand out but we should be wary of believing Eddies orgasmic analysis of Ainscough just yet. Just look at Brown, Robinson, Aspinwall, Goulding etc...

Every young player has his frailties as we all know and eddie does hype up youngsters too much at times but we can't deny Ainscough as had a great start to his Wigan career. The major thing that impresses me about him is his ability to get over an error, move on and kick on to a better preformence or follow up game.
Sam Tomkins is still the real young star of this side though but we need to protect him.

I agree about perspectives, i'm new to these boards as well and opinions are welcomed . I was giving my opinion which i'm sure given the posters opinions he expected to receive a reply , and as for Ainscough i've seen enough at reserve level to be confident in him , and seems to be proving him self at 1st team for me.
what was your opinion of Brian Carney under the high ball.

Oh, don't get me wrong i think aniscough has everything it takes to be a top class winger. Carney under the high ball was similarly shaky and in the long run i think ainy has potential to be better than Carney, given that he's already probably played more games of league than Carney did in his whole career.
I imagine robinson was pretty poor under the high ball but the high kick to the corner was not used as much when Jason was playing - wingers like Ryan Hall, Gardener and Paddy have added this to the art of being a winger

| If teams do kick to him then they better have a good kick chase he's not that bad under the high ball .
Brian carney was the same if he caught it clean then the kick chase would have to be good as they new what damage Brian could cause with his returns.
I thought Gardener looked looked a little bit rattled by Ainscough on thursday .

| Edwards would be the ideal man to take over at the moment.
Reservations about him not being a proven RL coach are misplaced IMO. He is the kind of person who would make sure he was technically up to date and is a perfectionist.
He would have the rest of this season to get up to speed because lets face it we are going nowhere in 2009, there is no relegation so there is no risk to have him learn on the job but I don't even think it would take him that long anyway such is the nature of the man to want to be the best. It's not as if he stopped watching or lost interest in the game since he became an RU coach.
Even if he stuck with Noble's game plans I am sure he would be more successful as he would address the basic problems we all point out week-in and week-out.
Whoever signs the players, Noble or IL our side is not that bad on paper and needs someone to get it to play to it's potential. I think Edwards could do this.
Unfortunately it won't happen as he happy where he is.
Dave

| Lets offer him the job and put him to the test, when he was rumoured to be wanted when we were bottom of SL he said something similar to "please dont offer it me" because he wouldn't be able to turn it down.
With Edwards it is almost becoming a now or never situation because imo if he makes a success of the Lions gig, the England head coach will be his imo and by that point, he will be able to name his price in RU and may never return.

| Quote Last Son of Wigan="Last Son of Wigan"Message for a certain Mr Shaun Edwards.
We need someone who knows what it means to play for wigan. Someone who knows how to get the team playing good attacking rugby.
Someone who will kick the hell out of them for poor attitude and effort.
Come home!!'"
Attacking rugby I think its defence he is coaching at both Wasp and Wales. It is also what we need to learn
