| Harry Smith again. What did we do in a past life to deserve his kicking

| That was hideous. A performance that should embarrass any semi-professional side. No skill, attacking structure or cohesion. After two weeks to prepare its completely unacceptable for a Wigan side.
I hope to see a strong interview from Peet completely condemning the performance - not another one about how hard we tried and how much the players care about each other.

| The execution was dreadful all night but delighted to see us hit Wardle in space rather than a back peddling Farrell. We really need to use his footwork more. The defence of the middle unit kept us in the game but the direction of the attack is just shocking. That was a flavour tonight of the conditions we’ll have to probably deal with in the play offs and we know (based on the signings next year) that we don’t have the personnel to win that against better teams. Hull played their part in it being one of the lowest quality RL games I think I’ve ever set my eyes on so to be home soaked in 25 mins after the final whistle with a win makes it a big relief.

| Can’t defend that, not good enough. It’ll take a miracle to make OT on our current form, let alone to think about winning there.
I’ve tried to be patient all season but I lost it tonight.

French needs to move back to 1. The experiment must end despite the games we have won with him in the halves. Field was better tonight but we are stifling our most talented player by playing him out of position.
It will be a struggle to do much without Havard though. I believe he is our best prop. Ellis will need to avoid injury and suspension to give us any chance.

| I know we were poor tonight, and Hull defended valiantly, but the officiating was beyond dreadful at times.

| Well Peet at least acknowledged how poor it was but I found this quote interesting:
'It probably looked like two teams who had come back from a week of not playing.'
Why on earth are we bothering to fight for the top 2 then? Wigan need to find a way to utilise the week off more productively - that's three times in a row we've had a blank gameweek and been poor the week after.

| Another drab performance but we have shown we can pull out a great performance when the pressure is on against a good side so I’m not giving up on this season.

It baffles me (across Rugby League generally) this kind of comment.
Teams are in the weekly grind, particularly on short turnarounds the comments from the coaches are always along the lines of "Busted. Battered, bruised, no time to rest, one training session because of it etc".
But then when the rest weeks come, inevitably teams are really poor the week after and it's always "the week off didn't help us".
Which is it? There has to be a happy medium or is it just never right?
