Utter tosh and you know it. Its only anti Noble if your view that he is boring is followed.

| Quote Red Hot Jalapeno="Red Hot Jalapeno"LOL,so when the team are playing poor its Nobles fault. When they play well its nothing to do with Noble, its down to the players? By your theory as long as you have good support and a solid halfback pairing you dont need a coach? Pull the other one!'"
Did I say that? No. I'm saying that tonight we had a decent halfback pairing and excellent support of the runner. Quit with reading what's not there, it makes you look silly.
Yes we need a coach, I just don't think Noble's the one. If he gets the team to play like this for the remainder of the season and breeds some consistency into the side then I will owe him an apology. Until then I question if he's the man for us.

Well everyone is entitled to there opinion i for one am made up by the performance tonight, and as i said it bodes well for the future, it will take more than one performance in 4 for me to be pleased but the signs are there.
If that was not an anti Noble style performance what has 90 % of the last 3 years performances been?
I was obviously being tongue in cheek with the last point but can you say that most of the critics of him have not been calling for a more expansive style, which we got tonight, an end to the stupid move forward 3 steps and hold in defence, which we generally saw tonight and the likes of Tomkins and Ainscough to be given a chance.

Well it helps having a hooker that knows what he is doing in relation to controlling the attack and a pack that can actually recieve passes they can run on to.

TBH in defence, we were still moving up and holding, but the clamping of the ball was much better.
As for Tomkins, picked on merit, another thing people can no longer bag Nobby for.

| Quote jonh="jonh" RJH are you really that sad that you have to take a great performance like tonight and use it to have a pop at posters who do not agree with you. '"
Dont get upset Jonh. Anybody can be wrong. I simply had no choice but to point out that all your years of rambling about how Noble cannot coach anything other than 5 drives and a kick has well and truely been blown out of the water tonight.

I very much doubt he has evolved from 5 drives and a kick to that sort of a performance in a few weeks. I think its more a case that he has finally got the new players to gel and 2 halfbacks that actually work well together along with the correct team selection.

Of course, the tactics that you have told us for years he cannot coach.
Oh one last thing. Bailey back to centre was a smart move short term wasnt it?

| There shouldn't just be black and white, there are shades of grey in between. Wigan have produced some dross in recent times and Noble has been deservedly criticised. Tonight he clearly deserves his praise and I would have to agree that its a style of play we've rarely seen from a Noble team. Very refreshing, possibly one of the most complete performances seen from Noble's Wigan bar 10 minutes or so in the second half. If we can maintain it, all fans will be firmly back in the Brian Noble fan club.

I am not upset at all quite the opposite, jesus i get accused of having a big ego usually by the people on this thread attempting to plump there own.
Lets not forget we have been here before, we need to back this up, the entire point is though things finally looked like they could be turned around. A few of the pundits have been saying for the last week of so this is a watershed for Nobles Wigan career, and what is pleasing after tonights offering is that he seriously seems to have changed his ethos, but again we saw this on the odd occasion last year and then went back to the dross 90% of the time.
For the first time in god knows how long i saw a real positive team contribution with support runners and dummy runners and options, for a ball carrier, regardless of errors blamed on the players such as poor ball retention etc we have not seen this very often in the past, hardly at all this season expect when we were chasing the game, now you can say tonight they followed his game plan, but clearly this was a diffenent game plan to what we had seen from him before and that in the important thing.
I personally suspect that the situation he was in regards his coaching future has forced a rethink and a change of ethos, fantastic, long may it continue.
The opinion of Noble does not change over night that would just be stupid and a very fickle personality trait, but today he has gone up in my estimations and i look forward to next week and the rest of the season with a renewed enthusiasm, as to be perfectly honest after the offerings of this year and the perevious 2 years performances I have started to fall out of love with our great game, lets hope toinght will be a platform for bigger and better things.

| As I posted in "that" thread. I am going to dig it out at the end of the season so we can all laugh at the posters and their comments (and their lack of understanding of RL)
Tonight went some way to proving why I posted what I did.

So every poor performance can we all laugh at you?
Lets be honest we have played 5 games performed in 1, much like last season. I am very positive about next week and hope we can kick on, which i think against Leeds we may well do, i do not mind if we win or lose a win would be nice but another performance is essential.
I personally think the week after the Leeds game will be a big indicator of the true extent of our resurgance.

| What everyone has to remember here is that is virtually impossible to go through a whole SL season without a grey patch, without a few poor performances. Whether at the start, middle or end of the season these are inevitable.
To truly judge a team's potential you have to look at the way they respond to it. Tonight was an indication that they are responding in a loyal and professional manner, by pulling together and for the first time in a while, playing as a team. I agree with you jonh that after Leeds will be more of an indication, let's just enjoy the win and get behind the team once again at Headingly.
