How many tries came about as a direct result from an error from Sam Tomkings ?

I think the pack that is equal to the Aussies myth has been well and truly put to rest. Sinfield on an hiding to nothing played at SO behind a losing pack; he does not have the quickness of a genuine half to read the defence and react accordingly. Roby has no running game when the pack is losing ground and his passing is easily read and he lacks the kicking game to keep the defence guessing; he did not lack effort.



The whole team fell into a one out game, no one offered any of the runners options so the defence had an easy time of it. Tomkins efforts under the high ball were not of the standard expected of a top class FB. No one had the self belief to try something unexpected. Briers was playing with the weakest team in the competition but he had the guts to try something different, he actually had the Aussie defence confused for a while and its a ploy that Eng were unable to use through either fear of failure or coaches orders. We know that the players can play off the cuff RL but they are too scared to try and win the game and hope to grind out the win.
