First team squad in a hurry in the first half, though Clubb, Sargy and Cook missing.
Skolars were incapable of dealing with Gower's kicks and deft passes. Second half saw fringe players to the fore, Grady, O'Donnell and Hurst busted a gut, Lee was tidy and Oscar Thomas scored a gem of a try. Much better than last years stodgy fair, businesslike, organised and enthusiastic.

No obvious Bronco injuries. Clearly a motivated team with lots of mutual encouragement and congrats for good moves. Not too strong opposition, who have barely started training and still getting to know each other by the look of it. But Skolars did not let their heads drop. Broncos look fit. I'd say an encouraging start on a bitterly cold day.

I have a goodfeeling about this year.......I know it was only the skolars, but a point a minute is still a good sign!

At last the Broncos looked like a team. Well drilled, plenty of communication and lots of attention to their ball playing skills. A far cry from last years shambles. Even Kieran dropping the ball in the first set wasn't bad as the team came out with a real sense of confidence and a positive attitude. We will be a team to compete with this season. Well done to all the players today for an entertaining match.

Completely agree. Broncos looked very slick attacking for the whole 80 minutes. Gower is simply different class. The team didn't get much practice in defense. Skolars have only been in training 2 weeks apparently. Grady, Lee and Hurst looked good. Overall the squad looked bigger and stronger than last year.

Enjoyed seeing everybody. Had a great day. Got a positive feeling for both teams for the season.

Did anyone see/hear anything regarding Clubb or Sarginson? In the build-up Cook was the only one mentioned to be injured.

Also how did Channing go? I do think he has talent just hoping he's put on some more size for the centres?

Channing looked lively. Not sure why the others didn't play but they were there.
