A couple of those English players were using the club as a stepping stone back North. I'd rather have Aussies who want to play for the club. Who want to live in London and can handle London life.

Who gives a toss, we are only doing the same as every other SL team and we are still more british than many. We have tried promoting ourselves with english players both young and old (and some second rate) and look where it has got us the past few seasons.
If you can point out to Rob Powell the affordable english players who are of similar quality to the overseas players we have signed and who want to both live and play in London, I am sure he would be more than happy to give them a call.
