You always get a mixed bag with Connor. He still created two of their tries and is a player that can always make something happen.

Thought the game changed with Levi's introduction, he offers pace and real direction. I like O'Brien but he's not a top hooker. Fages improved immensely with quicker service. Pryce needs to run more, his organising skills will improve with age. We have real depth in the squad. Great result.

Agree Levi was great but I do think OBrien is a top hooker, he was brilliant in the first half, led the defensive line and put in some huge shots! A top effort which allowed Levi to work his magic

Stats were interesting for Friday. Top metre maker was greenwood with 176 from 18 carries, golding managed 172 metres- (11metres per carry) neither on the field the full game , goldings kick returns helping there.

We made about 600 more metres than Hull and 60 fewer tackles. We missed just 19 whereas they missed 46 so I’d say we were good for the win, a few moans from them on social media about Watsons comments that we dominated, and of course it’s the refs fault they gave 11 penalties to our 4 not the players’.

Some talk of a trip by pryce which is what led to the argy bargy and their man being yellow carded so will have to see what if anything the MRP makes of that.



Some high gain stats from all our players across the field ashworth 11 per carry, greenwood 10, Leroy, Jones, Levi, AOB 9, Yates, senior 8. So although we were behind for much of the game the numbers do look good.

I think the area of improvement needs to be when we are at the opposition line, we are too easy to read in our attack of the line with too much single phase play so the opposition can easily defend against it.

Just seen a clip of Pryce's trip on the Hull player after they scored which caused the fracas. It was obviously deliberate & he needs to grow up. Can seem him getting a ban for that. What was he doing at the end of the game in missing the kick (drop goal attempt) not very professional even though we had won.

It was deliberate stupid and petulant- but so was the fact the Hull player went to cut between the two hudds players when it wasn’t necessary.

He’s only 19 and is taking a lot of pressure on his shoulders, from the fans, and the media, not just at Huddersfield, or even in the uk but from overseas also. He needs to stop or he’s going to turn into another Connor. It was a daft thing to do and will probably get a ban- but I’m not too concerned as I would hope he wouldn’t be playing next week anyway as Russell will be back and tui is back fit.

As for the kick- meh what difference does it make.

To add to that - if Connor hadn’t have come flying across like he did to wind up the situation Hull likely wouldn’t have been down to 12 and we may have been the ones penalised.

2 match ban for Pryce. Nothing for Smith

it makes Watsons conversation simple- Russell and tui to play in the halves and at FB regardless anyway I would have hoped. So I’m not too concerned- it’s his own silly fault.
