I don't think it was the Wire pack which was the problem for Hudds. Apart from them getting a bit of stage fright, what undermined them was that Wire played wide. That split the defence which is normally so effective. Play up the middle and Hudds will win; play out wide and the opposition will win. Unless Brown adapts Hudds' play a bit more to counter the fact that coaches have probably got the measure of Hudds now.

| Quote SaintsFan="SaintsFan"I don't think so. I think it was a team who didn't play well enough on the day and/or were outplayed on the day, depending on your perspective. But they got there fair and square and so deserved to be there.'" Hudds certainly did deserve to be there and as has been said better to get to the final and lose than not get there at all.
I think the "not good enough to be at wembley comment" was in response to who J.I.M supports though

Yes it is a different kettle of fish, its the final and not the semi!
Yes we have failed twice but at least we have made the final twice in 3 years which proves we have got some bottle somewhere, we are just not used to the "big" occasions but the more "big" occasions we are in the better we will become.'"
I am sorry but Warrington are certainly NOT used to the "big" occasions, but they managed to play a fantastic final anyways

| I thought that overall Wire just about deserved it but Hudds were unlucky with three tries that could have changed the direction of the game. Wire's first try should have been a knock on. Hudds 2 disallowed tries in the first half should have been given.

pretty much sums it up
Wire were deserving winners, but if the decisions had gone the other way, we might not have looked so shell shocked and played like we can.

I'd ignore the clown if I were you. After all he did come up with this piece of pre-match insight -:
[iGot a gut feeling mathers is gonna have a shocker.
I reckon warrington are going to totally bottle it to be honest.[/i
I think the terminology around these parts is 'know nowt fekkwit'.

I assume you mean Gareth Carvell. Just explain to me why he is a 'turncoat' and, for instance, Robinson, Hodgson, Griffin, Mason etc are not?

Becuase he signed a new contract then 2 days later decided he'd rather he hadn't signed it which had a sizeable impact on buggering up FC's recruitment for that year. AKIF none of the players you mentioned did that?

That's the same Carvell who was all set to sign for Saints, then accepted (and did sign ) a new contract with FC which meant that FC got £50k for him when they'd have got sod all from Saints. I should imagine that the £50k 'had a sizeable impact on assisting FC's recruitment for that year'. Merely part of the professional transfer merry-go-round. Players 'change their minds' all the time about who they'll play for. You're simply naive if you think otherwise.
