I get that it is fairly soon after end of season & I also get that Leigh as a Club try to do signing announcements only when the ink is dry these days but, we appear to be getting left behind in the signing of a quality squad for 2022.



How many confirmed I forget ? 5 maybe ? & most rumoured to be gone or going, it's getting a little bit tense now !

We need to give Derek, sorry mean Chester time to settle in and identify the right player.

I believe our leader has been recouping his initial out lay since 2017 so I wouldn't expect much,we have a parachute payment and what he didn't spend last season,that's if it is spent on next season's squad

so i was right when i say its all about the money people will catch on its a business and we will have to accept the players who come in will be signed at the right price and a little bit of quality here and there and it will be once again the status quo

Chester has said he will stick to the budget & "run a tight ship" in an interview with Mike Latham on Centurions TV.



So no Super League challenging squad & no M.K investment maybe ?

Signing usual start getting announced before Christmas to coincide with season ticket launch. That has been the pattern over last few years. So probably get news around then. A few resigning news would be good but perhaps not many being retained this time round.

A fair few signings will be announced at the end of the week , I know a couple , as well as the new Coach , not for me to say , but Kurt won’t be him .

Writing off £1m of DR's is not recouping!

Well, I'm going for Danny Ward. I really hope that I am correct. He's the coach to lead us back to SL1 and keep us there. Chris Chester and Danny Ward. Excellent combination.

Has he needed to considering it was stated the club was cash rich - or do you just want him to chuck money in for no reason and waste it

Derek is paying decent contract money out , and has signed some decent players who will get up challenge going for top spot in the Championship,in Chris Chester we have a good man , and the Coach isn’t bad either .

A few fans have given Derek a bit of stick recently ,due to the lack of news , but in the coming weeks fans will see we will have a decent squad again .

Well I think it is the club finances, SL money last year and parachute payment rather than Derek himself that is financing things Charlie

Col I can see what you are thinking ,with the new Coach in mind ,and I agree , as for the Finance , again last seasons central funding. Money wasn’t all used and as you rightly say the parachute payment will go a long way into keeping the squad full time , but Derek has still put a few quid of his own money into the pot , he offered Shaun Wane a very big amount to become Coach which was turned down by Shaun.

I really do think Derek has learned from his mistakes ,and Leigh will benefit next year and in future years , I’m happy with a few of the signings and I’m sure the fans will be , let’s just give the Club time to show .

Quite happy with the 2 signings so far, especially the young lad which I hope is a sign of investing in the future.

He hasnt needed to looking at the books but I assume 2021 will need propping up - do you know many prepared to lose £1m? Looking at the future if we are to grow into a SL club we will need someones cash.



Derek does many things I cringe at but I know where we would be if he hadnt thrown the cash in when needed.

I agree 100% Mo , strange me agreeing with you , but I do ,without Derek we would have gone to the wall years ago , I was there the afternoon Derek stepped in when the players getting paid was in doubt , since then we have moved forward and then some , folk will always have a go at him , yeah he’s outspoken but at least he gives us the hope we have to compete .Carry on Derek.

I must admit I’m surprised that the Docs offer has t been accepted , there must be reasons , to which we afe not privy , time will tell, in the meantime we must back the decisions being made . I for one am happy to bide my time .
