Just out of interest..What Salary Cap dispensation did Toronto get?

The salary cap in UK RL ( all 3 leagues ) is 1.8 million providing you can afford it without borrowing

Toronto where given dispensation,does that mean they can exceed the SC limit without penalty? Something similar to the dispensation of the Bradford players being taken on board!

They I assume can afford and therefore can spend the same as us , which if that is the rules isn't a problem

But we dont know what dispensation they have,do we?

No it doesn't , the rules are , if you can afford it without borrowing it , you can spend it , it benifitted us last year , if it benefits any other club this year it isnt an issue for anybody

'IF' & a big 'If' Brough goes to Canada then Giants will fall to bits & most likely then end up in the Q8's, if so then we should be safe as Giants without Danny Forehead are midgets.

What is this borrowing lark? I thought the bonds had to be paid to the RFL to secure.

Do you know what a ' directors loan ' is ?



A limited company director could loan a company money to invest in the business , this has been done to contract players and then when the business hasn't been able to make the income to pay players resulted in administration and liquidation



This is no longer allowed , to spend to the max cap 1.8 million , the club must provide proof ( via a bond ) it can afford it without directors loans , so ANY club in any league can spend the max if it can prove it can afford it

Again you still have no answer to what dispensation Toronto have.Is it in writing they cannot exceed the SC? 1.825M seems to be covered,but can they exceed that?

Is it really n writing that they can exceed the SC? How do you expect anyone on a forum to know the answer?

I don't think Toronto have special dispensation? They just have a wealthy owner who can spend all the available money, unlike other teams in that league.



I don't think they need Danny Brough, as the other 2 younger halfbacks are pretty good. At 34, he is probably after a pension, lower standard of rugby to keep his body intact, whilst providing cover in the halves for them.



They also have Gary Wheeler who is a 6 & Reece Dean who is a halfback. may be they are building for next year already, knowing that they will get promoted!

There is no answer because there is NO DISPENSATION.



Toronto can spend up to the 1.8m just like Leigh did, just like everybody else can as long as they put the money upfront with the RFL as an act of good faith and player welfare.



Once you get to SL you don't need to do this as the SC is paid monthly to the Clubs.

All Noble had to say was NO. Instead he just said not this week. If I am right no player can be approached prior to the beginning of May by any club...and yes that means you too Mr Perez

Out of interest, is a player allowed to approach a club before May, perhaps upon the prompting of an agent or other intermediary whether or not winked on by the aforementioned club?



If so the rules aren't worth the beer mats or cig packets on which they were drafted. What's more Senor Perez has recruited a reet pair of loo holes to advise him upon the loop holes!

A valid point. People talk about clubs approaching clubs before the deadline but is the same restriction on players aproaching clubs. I don't know...
