Hudds will need to announce he's leaving them before we announce Mamo isn't that right? Need to do it today then.

Mamo is currently a free agent. His contract ran out at the end of the season so no need for Giants to announce anything. He’s just been training with us.

It's a weird one this, i've seen the bods complaining on facebook and twitter, saying they didn't see anything about it. weren't informed.



I got the email and twitter alert on my phone within a minute of each other, and want to say i got a FB notification as well.



The way that people have reacted is like the club have sent it out 2am on sunday morning to deliberately not inform them.

Quite impressed with this signing. Gives us something different as he has pace and flair and just a 12 month contract gives him an incentive. Tom Lineham has just 12 months on his contract and is rumoured to want to go back to Yorkshire in 2020 so let’s see he he goes.

Says star signing but I do not see where he fits in.

Unless we are moving Ratch to 6, which I am not sure will work.I feel this he benefits from the additional time you recieve as a full back in comparison.

However I do not get paid to make such calls, so my opinion could be rubbish

As I said elsewhere, much as I applaud the club for increasing the size and depth of the squad, it still strikes me as a luxury buy and I don't think Mamo will see himself outside the starting 17 most days.



Price described him as a FB, wing [ior centre[/i. So perhaps he is seen as potentially the replacement for Atkins/Goodwin. However, given the feedback on his passing ability that hardly bodes well.

I've just been watching a few vids of Mamo on youtube. I remember him looking pretty quick and strong when he first joined Hudds but on his montages from Newcastle Knights he looks to have been a sensational athlete when he first emerged. I know montages always show players in a good light, but in terms of raw speed and acceleration he was something else - in the speed range of a young Kevin Penny but with greater size and power.



I wonder if injuries have taken the edge off his pace which will be a shame, but if not then there is definitely a potential star in there if he stays fit and clicks with Steve Price. Definitely worth taking a punt on and will bring something totally different to what we currently have.

Totally agree. Some players can never become exciting players because they lack pace. This boy has pace and has scored several long distance tries. Very good signing.

This time last season we had matt Russell starting on the wing, now we have a reserve who is better than him. The squad for next season is a lot stronger than last.
