Not great for holidays, but a could be good time to play them, heat won't be an issue and they have a stack of new recruits, so could be a bit rusty and start slow....?

Any idea on the date for the Catalan match? Can't seem to find it.

Aren't all Catalan home games on sky

Just looking through the sky games for the first half of the season ( 15 league games plus the Brisbane match ) we are on tv for 12 of our 16 matches - 5 home ( Inc Brisbane ) 7 away ( Inc magic weekend ).



Great for the fans who can't easily make games. Hard for season ticket holders who struggle for weeknight evenings. Thankfully half of the away weeknight games are the local derbies and the others against teams who normally play Friday night's anyway. Suspect there will be some sky sport renewals in Warrington from February onwards

I work shifts and have checked my shifts against the fixture list. I will miss the Leeds & Giants games at home & the Wakey, Wigan & Catalans games away. I'll probably be able to get the Leeds game off but will deffo miss the Giants at home and Wakey away which are 2 fixtures I always enjoy.

Why are they doing 2 games in 4 days again in May ? Verses Leeds on 26th and Salord on 29th??

International break

I guess that is the nail that ends all Sunday afternoon home league games at Warrington.



It's a sad day for a traditionalist like me.

They are phasing out the traditional Sunday game at Wire.. I remember when Leeds decided to make Friday nights their home game night they announced it to the fans and got them to buy into it..

Wire have just gradually changed it and hope the fans just blindly follow..

I assumed the double weekend was due to the international break, but when exactly is the international break?

wasnt there a poll on here a while back asking for fans opinions as to when home games were played..would this have any thing to do with the clubs decision..for me and the family i welcome us being picked out by sky for a few reasons 1 we are attractive to watch 2 im busy with family and can never make the game in time.3 the cost and 4 how it must annoy st eddie hemmings to be sat in the box hoping we lose..thanks sky

Decision was mainly due to sky TV putting games on Thursday and Fridays and thus giving teams playing on a Sunday only a 4 day turnaround to the next game on a Thursday.

It seems managers concerns about short turn rounds have fallen on deaf ears at sky/RFL.

Oh well modern rugby league.... . . Saturday is the new Sunday I guess.



Thursday nights though. ....I'm guessing someone has done the numbers and worked out the benefits to being on tv outweigh the fact crowds can be down by a few a few hundred. .? ?

Just read that the international break weekend is 5th - 8th May, yet we're playing Saints that weekend. So that's a double up of fixtures at the end of May and also a game the same weekend as the international? What's the point in the doubling up weekend if there actually isn't a free weekend?

The fans survey indicated a roughly 50/50 split between Friday nights or Sunday afternoon. I think people can live with that. What has been overwhelming across all clubs that have asked similar questions is the hatred of Thursday night games ....... 100% for the benefit of SKY as they cant find anything else to fill a Thursday nights TV.

It is an issue that the RFL needs to wake up to. In all honesty the only people who really benefit from season tickets are pensioners who may buy just their own ticket at reduced cost.



Contrast that to a working family of four or five people that love their rugby league but are prevented from going to fixtures because of constantly shifting playing days. That would generate more club revenue for the club than me with my pensioner ticket. Add to that the act of introducing kids to watching live sport & having bums on seats is much better for the future of the game than allowing sky to screen games whenever they decide.

I for one am really disappointed at the demise of the Sunday afternoon game.



I live miles away from Warrington so have no choice but to drive to games, and Sunday afternoon games are the best (in my opinion) because there are less idiots on the ale. I personally go to the match to enjoy the rugby, and night games just mean more drunken idiots shoving past you and spilling ale everywhere.



The kick off time is the reson that I will not be attending another Grand Final (should we get there) - too many drunken 4r5eholes who don't give a monkeys about anyone's enjoyment apart from their own.......that and the fact that Old Trafford is a dump (in my opinion)
