| Ahh the good old chesnut. Thought he played well in that dummy half role, his passing was shading forward a few times, but I'd be very happy if he continued to learn his trade there. I'd rather have him in the 17 then not, as we all know he can come up with a special play and create something ala the Chris Hicks try.
Anyone know why Clarke was dropped?
On the Gleeson front for me he doesn't cut it, he doesn't have enough ball skills to cut it. I think he is much more dangerous player on the fringes rather than bossing plays.

Clarke wasn't dropped he picked up injury to his ankle.
I agree Bridge should be in the team he is quite a creative player.

Got to agree with that. His effectiveness in open play is blunted by playing in that role.

| Bridge's passing from acting half was possibly the worst I have ever seen EVER. So as much as I like him hooker is not for him. Get him back in the centres.

That's a pretty big call. What are you basing that on ?

| I couldn't believe he didn't go to six, Gleeson to three & PJ into the second row at the expense of either Anderson, given that Harrison had to 'do it tough' with an injury etc.
Gleeson absolutely stank the place out at six. He can't pass, he's got rubbish hands. He's great at flick passes and such, but his passing is terrible. It comes back to that whole 'passing accuracy' thing, what you take for granted with folk like Briers is his passing, not maybe the killer pass, but the one before, it's fast, accurate & out in front, too many times with Gleeson yesterday his pass was rubbish, slow and you lose that second and the defence move up, it happened a few times on the last, putting Briers under pressure.
I like the idea of a runner & a playmaker. I think in the squad right now, the only one who can run & pass is Bridge. Whether he has the appetite to make this happen, I don't know. I wish he would.

| I to be honest think that Gleeson isn't good enough. I think he is very overrated and is not even a good centre let alone a good stand off. Chris Bridge is a far more creative player and when Monaghan is back then i would have Monaghan and Bridge at 6 and 7.

It would be preferable if Smith can get Briers and Monaghan to play together and I hope he can do it ,Bridge does deserve a chance and hopefully he will get it against York.IMO Bridge is unproven in any position and nobody knows exactly what his position actually is maybe he is a master of none ,I don't think anyone has seen enough of him to find out yet, he is a worry on the discipline and professionalism side of his game.
Gleeson is utter garbage at HB but at on his day he is world class his problem is he has fewer world class days than he does average days his problem is the same as the rest of the team consistency which hopefully Smith can bring in .
Maybe Gleeson the world class left all his quality back at saints he consistently performed when he was there maybe his head has never been in the right place since he signed for us but the world is full of maybe's .

Don't forget that both the club and the RFL have listened to LWF and made changes because he thought it would be better.
I expect the North Stand to be renamed as the Padders Stand next week

Yeh it was, maybe if he works closely with Lowes, Higham and Clarke it could improve.
