Statistically most grand finals are played in dry , good weather!
Remember our encounter in 2012 like yesterday. I’d been wearing a t shirt all day’

| Quote MorePlaymakersNeeded="MorePlaymakersNeeded"We were advised by an Canberra NRL supporter that Austin was a great supporter runner and not an out and out playmaker. As others have stated, he started out like a house on fire, but with his limited set of tools with ball in hand, became too predictable. He had a good 50% try per game rate with us, which seems to have dropped off at Leeds.
Should you be happy with him, then that's all that matters. Have you any prop forwards that want to go out on loan for a month or so? They would generate more enthusiasm from me, if I'm honest.'"
Maybe Walters. Def not Holroyd…….

I remember 10 years ago when the complaints on this forum were that Tony Smith had us winning too many games in the regular season and we were peaking too early, whereas sides like Leeds knew how to save up their wins for when they counted.
By the end of TS's reign we had mastered the part about being poop for large stretches of the regular season which was something we maintained under Price but we continued to be flops in big games other than when we were playing Saints for some reason.
Now Powell seems to be going back to the early TS idea of winning lots of games in the regular season, time will tell whether this has any correlation on our performances in the playoffs or whether we have just gone back to the same old failed approach from a decade ago.

Iwould say that under TS we blew teams away but were rarely stress tested. We have shown a significant degree of resilience in most of our matches so far. Hopefully that stands us in good stead come the sharp end of the season.

You’ll have a much better chance this year than last! So much goes into winning a GF. You need that bit of luck too. Still no idea how you guys never won in 2011 and 2012…..

| This idea that of you start good, you’ll be shat when it comes to the end that matters, and it’s a failed system, is completely laughable…! Good grief.
You have the best chance of winning the GF from top than any other finishing position…that is a statically proven fact.
You can’t argue with the prices of the bookies…with every week they lower or price, why would they do that if it wasn’t how well you start.
Next weekend Warrington will be regular joint favourites with St Helens. The week after Warrington will be regular season favourites, and GF joint favourites.

You'd be better off posting this on a page that cares about what Leeds have been lacking....

| Quote Shabino="Shabino"Rhino in peace. Austin looking like the player who first came to Wire. Not saying for a second you guys still need him, as you have a great half back pairing just now.
But did you think he could do it again? Why did we not see more of this at Wire?
Genuinely interested…..'"
quiet this week, just stumbled on this while looking for something.
this ended well, also, a weird thread to look back on.
