Thanks. I wasn't suggesting they were signed at the same time, I just thought Toby was in the youth system of Huddersfield also.

| Quote Gazwire="Gazwire"Reading the comments on the Wigan forum, they seem disappointed that he's leaving. With big Sam at the helm, it's a new start for him so hopefully we see the best of him again, and to be fair he was descent pre-contract.'"
Yes his immediate form for us before his extension in 2021 was good (funny that). Not worth the ludicrous contract, but decent as you say. He then fell off a cliff - the dog thing then the passport and out he went.
I don't rate him particularly highly as a Warrington centre and I've seen a few in Wire colours since 1979. He is not even the best centre at Wigan. I cannot believe we would offer him the same contract again - but with our board who knows.
However it is a new start and I must wish him luck. Any more of his prima donna and he can sit out his contract in Barrow.

| What type of Toby King will play for us?
The one who was poor defensively and a one trick 'high ball' pony of 2 years ago or the one who was a potential GB centre?
I have absolutely no idea - and I doubt anyone else does - even Toby.
I remain sceptical but hope it works out.
If it doesn't and he becomes a disruptive influence then get rid - or on loan to Kent Invicta or the like......

| Should not bring back a player who by all accounts has stated his wish to remain at Wigan

We've not got much choice as nobody else will even pay close to the ridiculous wages he's on. We are now wasting a marquee spot on a player who doesn't want to be here. Only at Warrington!!

| Looking at the Latrell Mitchell business at Souths, I doubt that Burgess will play King to 'justify his salary'. If King is smart he'll know that he has to toe the line. No leaving the bus journey early after a defeat, no victim mentality if things don't go well.

| My view is that King is a good solid centre. He's not world class. But he will be a big improvement on our two starting centres this year who have quite frankly been disappointing. Centre is certainly our biggest weak spot this year.

| The arguments for me are quite simple.
Is he better than what we have currently? Yes
Is he better than the majority that is out there at the moment? For me yes he is holding down a starting centre position for the team that for me is going to top the league, he has is failings but I don't see many better options. Currently I don't see Wrench, or Bruines ahead of him, maybe one day although I think Wrench is destined for the wing.
The whole marque argument is a non starter, the only slot he is taking up is the club fed slot, and what would you rather do reduce the impact of Walkers or Philbins wages.
It's easy for me take him back see out his contract if he plays great awesome if not he's not benefitting one or our direct rivals like he has this year.

| I think we should hope that Big Sam brings a big stick & knocks some of our wage stealers into rugby players.
