Compared to Salford, yes it most certainly is.

Oh goody. Another pointless lovelength measuring contest between an area of a city (that has previously been voted crappest town in the UK) that appears to be nothing but docks, industrial estates and council housing (for the record I think there's some really nice bits of hull, though they appear to be in the centre and north) and the whole of a completely different city that has naff bits with social problems as well as a great waterside area, a university, canals, musical heritage, some posh bits and is centrally located in one of the most desirable and fastest growing conurbations in the UK.

My point is that both areas have plus and minus points and a thread on here really isn't going to change anybody's minds. You're comparing apples and pears between some people who will only eat apples and others who couldn't think of anything worse than eating apples.
