Sorry Shirl
but was just wondering if a member of the royals or a leading politician was to die between now and Friday would the R F L and the clubs be able to ignore it because we have R F L protocol and if the club do it without permission then wouldn't the R F L look stupid if they punished a club for showing respect to a local hero.

Surely in this day and age the use of email would quicken up this process unless the RFL has not got email yet!  |

I was thinking that too, all you need to do is set send to everyone who needs to know, give it 30 mins and then stalk them though telephone, fax and email until you get a result.

This is what pis*es me of about Salford not what we do on the field but how we are run as a club of it how hard is it to make a few phone calls and organise a minutes silence total numpties at the club.

The club have to write to R.F.L to get permission for the minutes silence, & when that is agreed then the Ref's boss to be informed & then the ref. When they all agree, they then have to ask the opposing team's officials/coach's to ok it. Its not just a matter of "ok, we will do it" from the club, its like everything, there is certain protocol to adhere to.
Would have been a nice gesture but, as posted, just not a case of doing it.'"

And all the ref has to do for it is blow a whistle 
Red tape, health and safety etc etc it is getting beyond a joke in this country. |

I have worked out in Afghanistan as a comms contractor for almost 4 years (after 23 years in the army). I will attend Simons repatriation ceremony in Bastion over the next few days - wearing my Salford top.
Unfortunately these ceremonies are getting more and more frequent lately - they are all equally as sad. My heart goes out to his new wife, his family and friends.
I hope the Club change their mind about the minutes silence, it would be a nice gesture if they could.

Hey, dont take it out on me!!!!!!!!!! I only found all this out a few weeks ago when it was requested for a Salford fan, & I didn't realize it took so much to organise.
Im not just sticking up for the club here, but if you have a gripe about it e-mail the Rugby League & ask them why it takes so much to sort out before you blame the club. |
