| Went to East in Pudsey last night. Was pretty good but a little disappointed by the portion sizes compared to a few other restaurants I've been to. They make up for it with the Naan breads, but they're on the pricey side at £5.50 for a garlic naan.

| Quote bobsmyuncle="bobsmyuncle""Classic Curry Night" at the Bulls after the Warrington match was unfortunately cancelled due to lack of bookings.
Had a phone call from the Bulls office to tell me of the cancellation and asked for my credit card details to refund the payment for 4 people
I asked how many bookings had they actually had - and they said "as far as we can see it was just you"'"
that's a shame, I was wondering how it was. They probably won't run that again.

I read this and did just that, albeit in reverse order. As I'd not been to either establishment, but had been meaning to go to the Fighting Cock for bloody ages - both were amazing!

Did the FC resemble this photo? With a sad middle aged bloke in a wig propping up the bar, smelling slightly of wee, mumbling into his pint about how Peter Fox & Paul Deacon would never have let them get in this mess?

| Gotta say, I couldn't recommend the FC or the Punjab more highly if I tried.
Never had a bad curry in the Punjab (although I've not been since I moved out of Bradford), and I've had many a top Friday lunchtime and leaving do in the FC, as it used to be the pub of choice for our company/department.

| Are there any other real ale pubs near the Fighting Cock? I fancy organising a night with the lads I do the rail ale trail with but we like a bit of a pub crawl. Appreciate that might be an issue near Thornton Road

| Other real ale pubs in Bradford town centre. There's the Corn Dolly. Erm there's the Spoons in Centenery Square but it does have a few rather odd characters in it. Up the top end of town there's the Beehive but I've not been in for a while as it went down the pan. I try and avoid the city centre as it's a poop hole apart from the odd bolthole of quality like the FC.

As from Friday, though, there's the Sparrow on North Parade

All you proper beer types out there should give a bold venture a deserved go. As indeed should coffee aficionados.

A little birdie told me about that one.
Looks great, though I can't remember which is North Parade.

| Between Christopher Pratts furniture store and H.R. Jacksons crockery shop. Oops they've all gone? I think it's near a lot of Charity Shops. In all fairness it's between John St. Market and Manningham Lane.
