I think Puletua would be a big loss, he's a big man with an amazing offload so he should be signed up, i think Flannery could be replaced from within.

I would have to agree with SF6. We are likely to try and keep Puletua with potentially Flannery leaving to make an extra spot on the quota.



I would guess that with Eastmond and Graham leaving a half back and a prop/big forward are on the cards. The NRL has plenty of good props but not a lot of good scrum halves. It will be interesting to see what happens.



There is also the possiblity that Leon could leave as well, that would increase our need for an extra half back.



Players from Penrith and Wests are likely due to the coach as well as Manly due to the good press Jamie gives us plus Josh Perry.

I think if Graham leaves we should try to sign Prescott from Wigan to complement out pack

I guess it all depends on who stays and who goes - if we lose graham we need a prop and a very good one. If he stays and so does Leon I dont think we need a halfback unless were planning on moving Leon to either fullback or loose as it looks like the 7 shirt will be taken by Lomax with Gaskell as backup. We could get another blockbusting forward (maybe to replace Flanders) or a specialist centre/winger ..

Well I doubt they'd let him go. He's such a vital player for them at present, plus he's a regular for SOO and test football. I remember reading last year when the Storm were shedding layers left right and , that the three players they were determined to keep, were Slater, Smith and Cronk. If he did want to join you guy's you'd have to get your checkbook out, seeing as he'd still be under contract.



I'm not saying it won't happen. But the odds aren't stacked in Saints favor.

I think they managed to get back under by offloading the likes of Inglis, Hoffman, Lima, Finch etc..



However I would imagine they probably need to balance their finances as there will still be some high earners taking up a chunk of the legal cap, so it is perfectly feasable that a player like Cronk could be subject to trasnfer.

Gidley was still in contract but we got him,clubs are sometimes willing to let players go due to salary cap,age,a better prospect coming through ect.Granted its unlikely that Melbourne would let one of thier stars go this way.

He would earn more playing in the 'better' competition and not have to move half way round the world. However, if Blair is sold by Storm they may not neet to lose Cronk. SL cant compete with NRL wages as it stands unless you sign some randoms a la, the Hull Teams and Wakefield. It will be even worse when their salary cap gets even bigger due to the new bumper TV deal they are getting.
