Last night highlights why it was a canny move to get him into the squad on peanuts.



Nobody claims him to be a world beater, but at times like last night when we are down to the bare bones it's good to have another experienced player kicking about the squad - past his best or not. Good on you Foz.

I thinl most people with half a brain knew why foz was brought in for 2010, he was never here to be first choice prop.

lol I dont think anyone with eyes could argue he isnt the player he was when he left us a couple of years ago. He doesnt make the impact he once did but from what I've heard he is great to have around the club and on days like yesterday he would have been invaluable.

Took the ball up well and gave us some mometum I thought, did well to score his try even though it was from 5 metres out.

As others have Said. Fozzard is an experienced Old head that means some of our young front rowers are not over exposed.



Putr it this way a front row of Emmitt and Hargreaves would have been smashed out of site.

Those present last night witnessed the last ever RL try scored by Nick Fozzard. And he didn't even get the ball down properly!!!!!!

Foz and Big Tony just about held us together last night but without Cloughie's contribution we'd of been truly fooked.

You forgot Pryce. He was very, very good last night.

Apparently, Fozzard had a chest infection through the week and probably shouldn't have played last night, don't know how true that is though. Even without a chest infection, Fozzard isn't the quickest and his legs are going, but i thought he did a pretty decent job yesterday, especially if he did have a chest infection. Like the OP said, that is the reason he's in the squad, and its a good job he was. Hes slow moving up at times but that was to be expected.

His first stint was only 16 mins, every time he came back to the bench he looked unwell so the chest infection could be have been the reason. Every time he went back on the field of play though he didn't exactly shy away from any workload.

Peanuts? You can get an awful lot of peanuts for the money Fozzard is on.

He should just pack it all in,maybe become the new face of gillette like scully was..

Exactly mate. His stints on the field weren't exactly long, but he didn't shy away from anything, which showed great character and just why we signed him back from Hull KR.

An opinion I have, but haven't shared for a while, is that Fozzard is a specialist starting prop. People talk about speciality interchange props but Fozzard has always been far more effective playing at the beginning of a game. He is able to handle the rough stuff that happened in the opening quarter. If you bring him off the bench he has never been very effective, in fact he slows down play and gets in the way.



Foz should either start or not play at all.

I'd agree with that too - he isnt really an impact player and for me he is good at taking the sting out of the opposition.

Always has been. In 2006 when he was essentially 5th choice prop, he'd always started when included.

Has it been announced officially where Foz will be playing next year?

I would not mind him at Widnes for a season.
