It doesn't matter who Saints sign as your going to be in the shadow of the mighty Wire for sometime to come.

Short of lucking out with similar circumstances to those that presented Jamie Lyon to us I doubt very much whether we'll be able to afford an established, top-quality NRL half. There's just too much money in that competition at the moment. Which leaves either a veteran with one or two seasons left in him or a youngster with lots of potential. Both options have their positives and negatives.



Replacing Graham would present far greater difficulties because of the singular attributes he possesses.



1. Ability - the NRL might be awash with props but there aren't many available that are as good as Graham and in the prime of their careers.

2. Durability and fitness - Graham misses few games and, more importantly, is capable, in times of need, of fulfilling the roles of two props by playing close to 70 minutes. This is an absolutely priceless attribute and one that we will struggle to replace.

3. Leadership - Graham is the heartbeat of the club. A born competitor and leader. If he goes who assumes this role? Wellens? Roby? Are they capable?

And that is why no one likes Warrington fans

I think Graham will need a big replacement from you guys, but Lomax has particularly impressed me.

I think if Pryce was staying we wouldn't really need a half back if Lomax carries on his form. However with his injuries and with no contract signing hints, it is looking more and more likely he will be leaving.

I'd take Lynch at Bradford should he become available, we could do worse than Carvell. In SL Rangi Chase would be my choice at Stand Off, but there are quality players at other clubs that could flourish in a better side. Broughton and Ratchford are two that spring to mind.

Lynch would be perfect as a player, but is quite old and has a few injuries on his CV perhaps.

Lynch is superb prop and a player any club would gladly have. But if my memory serves me right he signed a new longterm deal with the Bull's recently.
