| Cuthberston?
On the evidence shown so far he must be the prime contender? Without diminishing the contributions/impact made by the likes of Webb, Lauititi and Buderus.....our latest recruit is fast becoming the most important element in anything we do in attack. His offloads are sublime and accurate; his passing skills as good as any respectable centre and he can score tries too (no more prop-one-try-a-season expectations !!)

Fair comment ,but the other players you have mentioned played a big part in winning SL several times .Cuthbertson has only played 8 games? ,but it looks like he could be up there with them

Time will indeed tell...but I was careful to to state "on the evidence so far". Things might change, but somehow I can't see it. The guy is a joy to watch and does his fair share of graft too

| He's good but he ain't no Ben Cross.
In all seriousness though he's started very well and I think a key part of it is he and Aiton seem to really click out there together and both players performances have been enhanced by having the other out there.

| I really like Cuthbertson, he's made a massive difference but to say he's the best oversea's signing in the last 10 years is maybe pushing it, especially when we've been graced with Lauitiiti, Webb and Buderus.
Webb (pre back injury) was outstanding, Lauitiiti was like watching someone who played RL in a way we'd never see before. Buderus will, to this day, be the best hooker the Rhinos have seen.
I don't think I could say which was our 'best' of the above as they all (Cuthbertson included) brought a different skill set to the Rhinos.

| Cuthbertson? he's been here all of 5 minutes! Yes, he's impressed with his workrate and skills, and it looks like the Sleeve has pulled it off again, but surely April is a bit early to be getting giddy?
If I had to pick one, it would be an injury free Big Ali for me, although Webb and Buderus make an equally good choice. Hell, even that ginger fella who used to play on the wing might get a mention....

| Lautiti. Longevity, skils and success.
I'm enjoying watching Cuthbertson. He's a breath of fresh air but after 8 games lets calm down a bit eh?

| Imo the likes of Webb,Lauititi,Buderus and even Scott Donald have a all shown one extra thing besides there own skill set and that is buying into the club ethos, what pleases me most is Cuthbertson is the same. Your heart as to be "in it"100% and that's what I see in him.

| I think he will end up the clubs top try scorer in the prop forwards. (Bare in mind I don't know what the record is).

One of the pleasing things about our performances so far is that our forwards are scoring some tries for us. In previous seasons it felt like only really Ablett had any tries in him.
Last year the grand total of tries from Peacock, Leuluai, Bailey, Kirke and Singleton = 7
Cuthbertson, Singleton and Leuluai already have given us 9 in just 8 matches.
As good as our back 5 are and whilst they're expected to get the most tries, you can't live off just their tries alone, you need some from the middle men.

I didn't think Glanville was anything special. There were no yards after contact. He just seemed to go straight to ground. I don't know if he was trying to protect the ball. It was weird. I wondered if someone feinted to tackle him, if he would still go to ground.
I wasn't too excited about he Furner signing, but he was one of they key players in 2004 winning team.

I think he is up there but the likes of Jamie Lyon,Trent Barrett and The Paul brothers to name but a few would give him a run for his money as the best.fwiw he is the best we have had imo.

| Ali without a doubt. No contest. Pure class.
He was our Eric Cantona in that he was the x factor in getting us over the line for that crucial first title - then a succession of them followed.
And he was allowed to leave too soon.

Agreed, but for me Ali was a one off. There's been nobody like him in SL, Solomona maybe, but to me he was always a charity shop version of Ali.

| Aiton looks like a new signing. I've not rated him, but seems (to me anyway) that he is totally rejuvenated this year. His energy and aggression are a breath of fresh air. Cuthbertson is a great signing, but for me he just reminds me of what we have been missing, a big guy who has good hands and can offload.
He is obvious quality, his reading of the defence after McGuire's break to then put Hall in was the mark of a very good footballer.
I thought Singleton was just as good in his own way yesterday. He's gong to be in that team for a long time.

| As a wire fan im very impressed. He does good minutes, gets through a shed load of work and his offloading ability is as good as any. Most he tries come off and tend to create something.

| I can't recall many overseas players looking so integral and essential to a team as quickly as cuthbertson.
As for the question - no, he'll need 2-3 good season for that.
Ali and Lyon are the best 2 overseas signings I've seen in SL era. I'd place Ali first by a reasonable distance as Lyon only had a couple of seasons.

| Not even top 3 yet imo.
He's proving to be a quality signing no doubts at all and his skill set along with doing the tough stuff is a joy to watch and no doubt he adds the X-Factor dimension to our pack but as has been said lets not get giddy just yet!
Fwiw imo it's Ali ,Webb ,Kylie , then the likes of Godden ,Furner ,Bai ,Glanville ,Donald & Poching come into the reckoning.
I also enjoyed watching Innes ,Blackmore Izzard and albeit very short stay E.T.

| He's certainly, without doubt, the best prop we've signed since Kylie.
Although when the competition for that distinction is Cross, Moore, Griffin, it's hardly the ringing endorsement it first appears.

Would you swap him for Sims?
I wouldn't, even though arguably Sims was the bigger signing.
But let's wait & see how he goes over a full season, so far no complaints from me.
