| Quote ELIGIBILITY OF PLAYERS: MEMBER CLUBS
B4:8 In respect of any Club, only players on the Register of that club at the close of RFL
business on the Monday immediately prior to the Third Round of the Cup shall be eligible
to play in any Cup Tie in the Third, Fourth or Fifth Round of the Cup in that Season. Only
Players on the Register of that Club at the close of RFL business on the Monday
immediately prior to the Quarter Finals of the Cup shall be eligible to play in any Quarter
Final, Semi Final or Final Tie. A player who plays for one Member Club in the Cup
cannot, in that same Season, play for another Club in the Cup'" .

Read the rules quoted above, he had to be a registered playe by last Monday, as he was registered prior to the Easter weekend, it's not a problem. |

They were quoting the old rules, as Andy Gilder found on the other thread on this subject.
B4:8 In respect of any Club playing in any Round of the Cup upto and including Round 5, only
players who are correctly registered and eligible to play for that Club under the Rules of
the Competition in which that Club usually competes are eligible to play for that Club in a
Cup Tie.
Smith and the others are fine.

Yes.
If I remember rightly, the letter of the law said that Hull had committed a breach of RFL regulations. The problem however was that the RFL had not set a penalty tariff for anybody who did breach the regulations, meaning that they couldn't expel Hull from the tournament. IIRC, Hull received a suspended fine. |
