Never seen Bourne but have seen Bond and I like Bond. I think it's because he reminds me of me. Suave, sophisticated, a devil with the ladies, and brave to boot.



We watched Benjamin Button the other night. Enjoyed it.

I like both. Both are different takes on the same genre.



Borne is gritty and action packed, where as Bond is simply fantasy escapism.



I suppose it depends on what you want at any given time.

By the same token, why not read one of the Fleming Bonds, John Gardner's 80s reworking (Why not License Renewed, some of the action takes place in some familiar streets in Perpignan) or even the Raymond Benson outings.



They're a world away from the safari suited Roger Moore outings.

I beg your pardon.



What's wrong with safari suits?

TBH they dont interest me in the slightest. A bit like star wars.

Taken is ace mate, really had me on the edge of my seat.

Bond by plenty

Nowt wrong with the Dodge Moore Bond films, the point I am making is that they are a world away from the stuff that Fleming used to knock out.

But you'll read a Bourne book ?



I was merely suggesting to get a true comparison of both genres, was to read a book from each ....

Good film that.

Robert Ludlum did write other novels, but only 3 in the bourne series I think.



Personally I love both series of films, although Bond wins through the length of time its been going, and the number of different styles, plots and characters.



I have read all the books, and they are so much darker than the films. Daniel Craigs films are a lot more in keeping with the style the books are written in.



I started to read the first bourne book and enjoyed it, but time to read became less and couldn't remember what I'd read the time before the next time I picked up the book, so I gave up. What I read was great though

Matt Helm or Our Man Flint by plenty. You can't make a serious spy film when everyone knows who the spy is.
