| With all this talk of new signings I thought I would ask the question.
Who was the worst Fax signing ever and why, this could be fun.
I'll start with the guy mentioned in another post Seuseu's brother.
Why because he was absolute pants and soon got the see you see you message.

| Considering the size of transfer fee Grant Anderson has to be up there.

| Dane Neiriiinx, spelling I know. His only claim to fame was peeing on the bar in jumpin jax. He was late here as he was backpacking or summat and then was $hit, he didnt stand out in an under 18's game in cumbria if i recall or summat like that. He would touch the ball twice in a game and when the ball was coming down his side his hands would go on his knees as he was tired.
Seu Seu had some skills but not the engine to go with it, he was gassed after 5 minutes so crap.

In that case Paul Medley beats him, then when we sold him he was awsome for Bradford.

Alleged to have the biggest kick in Rugby and Seem to remember he was called Cliff Brown or something?? Came from RU and was cack!! Think he played a couple of A Team games and played once for the first team at Thrum Hall v Oldham but was never seen again!!

Paul Medley and John Lyons came as part of the £120k transfer fee for Paul Dixon when he signed for Leeds plus cash so Grant Anderson was more. Based on £70k we paid for him IIRC
Plus we then sold Mecley for about £70k so we did good business from that perspective!! He just ended up being brilliant for them after being average for us for the bit of the season he stayed at Fax!!

| Mark Brooke Cowden. New Zealand RU international who just didnt make it in league not even managing a first team game for us.
Jon Scales. I just remember him playing 1 game for us over at Cas and looking like he had never played the game before.
Kevin? Heckenburg. Just remeber him been distictly average and playing very few games for us.
Martin Meredith. Bought as a standoff broke his ankle early doors and ended up doing bad on the wing.
Lee Finerty -Simply for been the worst tackler I have ever seen play rugby.
Rob Roberts - Broke a window to play for us then was crap.
Not exactly a signing but one of the Aussie Macdougall brothers trained with us. I remember Johnny Lawless telling us a tale or two about him.
More recently players like Hesketh, Clayton, Ostick, Barker, Moore, Andy Smith are definitely up there for me.

| Peter Coyne. The most ordinary half back I've ever seen. Came with an NRL track record too.
Castleford signed him after he'd gone through our payments clearing service.
Gash.

| Peter coyne was terrible but got in side every week under strudwick who would be coach of this team. Cantillon was fantastic for widnes but did not want to know for us. Harsh on hesketh to include him.

| Peter Coyne defintely, ran like a duck. And Danny Stains the same year wasn't much better (i think he went back down under and played Origin as well). Then we had Mick Taylor on the wing that year. He took to Struddies man for man marking so well that he'd never tackle the opposing centre even when they had a 2 on 1.
And i think we've had worse half backs than Lawford - Dane Dorhay, Martyn Moxon.
Going back further - Mick Snee played centre in late 70's early 80's.

| Peter Coyne was really poor but the worst signing was Strudwick himself.

He scored the winning try against Oldham and did also play against Cas. No closer to being our worst player than he was to being our best in truth!

| Bit unfair on Ketteridge, always thought he did fairly well when he played. Grant Anderson as well, he was just never fit to play.
Lee Finnerty on his policy of never tackling below the neck.
Chris Birchall was about as one-dimensional as Neil Cherryholme. Never understood why he got picked.
Heath Cruckshank?

| Regarding Birchall & Cherryholme, I'm assuming they had the "right" attitude, ie. a good clubman. never missed training & put the tacking in on the field, though during their careers, I don't think I recall 1 tackle bust between the pair of them.

| Just about any signing TA made the season after we were relegated, I remember a piece by Dave Fleming in a programme maybe 18 months on from our first game against Keighley when he made the point that every player except one or two who'd played in that first game had left the club by then
