Sounds to me like theres quite a few mulling over pay cuts, and until they have a decent idea of who will or wont stay, its difficult to negotiate with other players. I would hazard its been a big learning curve for the board and one they wouldnt want to go through again and would handle differently next time. I dont like saying this, but i could see problems with the strategy adopted a mile off

plus quite a few of the squad from last season have not had much time as have been involved playing for PNG, scotland, wales etc.

Well their strategy usually entails giving the players a cut off date as to when they say yay or nay , I cannot think why this season would be any differant.
